take a look at this.. tell me this is not a chess game moving in on checkmate :-S
notice how iran is surrounded 360 degrees and since 9/11 the US has closed off the eastern side of the iranian border with bases in all the new 'Stans' and the western side with Iraq.
(This map is from a journal of strategic affairs)
as of today: 226 countries have US troops and/or bases on their soil and only 40 have no US presence. That means the US has military units in 5/6 of the world ready to go at anytime and the other 1/6 is within the reach of any number of these units in no time at all. If this is not an Empire then please tell me what it is.
The political phrase of this decade when it is over will no doubt be 'imperial overstretch'! The US has two possible futures
1) controling and subdugating the entire globe through hegemonic control (soft control like political influence, economic stranglehold etc..) and through military suppression when necesssary
or
2) Complete overt empire, those who support the US will retain their apparent independence, those who dont will be overtly controlled on mass
(Zbigniew Brezinski called this 'The Choice' beween 'Hegemony or Survival'...since when did survival become global dictatorship through the barrel of a gun?)
we all know these neo-cons are trying to do option 2 to make sure they get all the earths bounty of oil and wealth...(which fits in to the apparent set up of using America's power to 'break' it as some part of a New World Order of control) but the question is how long will it take them to fail as this goal is impossible with such a comparatively small military when compared to the total armies of earth and the lack of pro-US sentiment in the areas of the world the US seeks to conquer. |

I don't think they are intending traditional battlefield scenarios, the next stage, if people don't wake up and do something, could be 'limited' nuclear response, or other nightmare scenarios using weapons in developement. Once they have a precedent, and have enough backing from other governments you will see horror on a scale not witnessed since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The war criminals controlling the US, Britain and Israel are blind to human suffering, one could even say, looking at the evidence, that they thrive on it.
To give you a clue as to US military thinking, this from the PNAC document:
"... the art of warfare ... will be vastly different than it is today ...
“combat” likely will take place in new dimensions ... advanced forms of biological warfare that can “target” specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool."
from this link:
http://www.peace.ca/racetargetablebioweapons.htm
Weapons developement is taking on new directions, HAARP is a US facility with some very nasty secrets, its related to weather control and the creation of 'natural' disasters. Also stated in PNAC that control of the weather to be used as a weapon is expected by 2020, I would suggest they are already there. |

Iran not the weak state. If Americans will try to intrude there, greater losses will have. Iran has the good Russian weapon |

The wild cards are Russia and China.
Who knows what might happen.
If a nuclear WW4 does break out in the Middle East, the whole lot could go up, even Israel could be targeted.
Lets just hope it doesn't happen. _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

far from that if there is a conflict there israel will likely provoke and begin it with some sort of aggression against iran directly or indirectly. |

Good point Iro.
Israel are a known aggressor and are far more likely to start WW4 than any other player in the ME.
What do you think the outcome would be for Israel if it did attack as you say is likely. _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

War Signals?
Extract -
Colonel Gardiner, who has taught military strategy at the National War College, says that the carrier deployment and a scheduled Persian Gulf arrival date of October 21 is "very important evidence" of war planning. He says, "I know that some naval forces have already received 'prepare to deploy orders' [PTDOs], which have set the date for being ready to go as October 1. Given that it would take about from October 2 to October 21 to get those forces to the Gulf region, that looks about like the date" of any possible military action against Iran. (A PTDO means that all crews should be at their stations, and ships and planes should be ready to go, by a certain date--in this case, reportedly, October 1.) Gardiner notes, "You cannot issue a PTDO and then stay ready for very long. It's a very significant order, and it's not done as a training exercise." This point was also made in the Time article.

Chilling article Brian. How very depressing.
The timing is everything.
I often try and imagine the dates for future events and an obvious one has been 7/11. Mumbai was of course 11/7.
What I didn't realise until recently is that 7/11 is the date that the mid term elections are happening in the US.
If Iran is to be attacked it is likely to be before this date.
Does that mean that a provocation incident is also likely to occur ?
Halloween anyone ? _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

Yes Mark, difficult to see how they can attack without some excuse but with the open revolt from ex and serving top military men including Powell we can see we are not dealing with rational people here. At least we are not in a position to understand their rationale, which on the face it has no benefit to but a very few.
Second thoughts, maybe we are. |

The kurds were setting up military airbases in Iraq which have now been compromised. I heard that Armedinejad has been shelling the kurds over the past couple of months and I expect this was why. They were intended as a refuelling stop for Israeli jets on their "mini-nuking" campaign.
Reports of aircraft carriers headed for Iran sounds like a "plan B" to me. |

Wasnt Karl Rove or someone promising an October Surprise? I had thought that maybe delivering "Osama". Who knows?
Just look for other key dates in October in history for clues.
7/11 is still a possibility - cancel the election, declare martial law - bob's your uncle.

If they do attack Iran, this will be the first time they have gone to war without permission of congress. It will give a green light for insurgent attacks on our troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. Iran considers itself one of the great nations in the middle east and as one of the lst sovereign states you can understand why. There will be large consequences.
Tony Blair is out of control. Our legal system must not support another highly illegal war. We will be so hated after this. |
