FPF + MEDIALENS: TARGETING IRAN - THE BBC PROPAGANDA BEGINS
Iran has - according to the Nuclear watchdog IAEA - had more than eight hundred IAEA inspections in 2003 alone*, and the IAEA inspectors are - like all spy-satellites - permanently present and controlling Iran too.
by Henk Ruyssenaars
FPF-21-01-2005 - Having worked for the BBC, the undersigned has earlier pointed out that that the BBC has become one of the worst warmongers on earth. And, like Medialens shows, next in the BBC/US collaboration is Iran.
It is apart from that, a little known fact that all people working at the BBC are muzzled c.q. silenced [http://tinyurl.com/7ynn3 ] - when the UK Min. of Defense feels like it - by the now permanent 'D-Notice': [ http://www.serendipity.li/cda/dnot.html ]
The undersigned - who also has worked for the BBC - but stopped in protest during Gulf War I - has seen and heard the detoriation in the reporting by the BBC which now has turned into ''Blair's Biased nonsense.''
The warmongering role of the BBC is clearly shown in different
investigations, which should change your maybe positive ideas
about the BBC, and see it's real role plus their distortion of the
newsfacts like in targeting after Iraq - now again Iran.
IRAQ: the BBC FEATURED THE LOWEST LEVEL OF DISSENT OF ALL
"A study of coverage concerning the run up and support for the war
in Iraq in five countries, for the (very conservative - HR) 'Frankfurter
Allgemeine Zeitung' - shows that the BBC featured the lowest level
of dissent of all.
THE BBC'S 2% TOTAL WAS EVEN LOWER THAN THE 7% FOUND ON THE US CHANNEL 'ABC' ! [ http://tinyurl.com/2jopb ].
Since the BBC has cranked up it's propaganda machines again, this time targeting Iran in their news 'Psy-Ops' and brainwashing their victims all the way, Medialens today is sending out an alert about this, called 'Targeting Iran - the BBC propaganda begins:
''Iran the Last Hurrah.''
"Writing in The New Yorker magazine this month, the renowned
investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported US plans for an
attack on Iran. A former high-level intelligence official told Hersh:
„This is a war against terrorism, and Iraq is just one campaign.
The Bush Administration is looking at this as a huge war zone.
Next, we‚re going to have the Iranian campaign. We‚ve declared war and the bad guys, wherever they are, are the enemy. This is the last hurrah ˜ we‚ve got four years, and want to come out of this saying we won the war on terrorism.'' (Seymour M. Hersh, 'The coming wars' - The New Yorker, January 17, 2005 - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/3qjmj )
Hersh added:
„In my interviews, I was repeatedly told
that the next strategic target was Iran.''
Ian Traynor reported in the Guardian this week that Western concern over Iran's suspected nuclear programme has been growing since 2003 when it was revealed that Tehran had been conducting secret nuclear activities for 18 years in violation of treaty obligations. Traynor wrote:
„The International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna has had inspectors in the country throughout the period. While finding much that is suspect, the inspectors have not found any proof of a clandestine nuclear bomb programme.'' (''Special forces - on the ground'' in Iran,‚ Ian Traynor, The Guardian, January 17, 2005 - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/5t3tn )
Remarkably, in an almost exact repeat of events in 2002 and 2003, the BBC is now reflexively boosting the US claim that Iran presents a threat to the West.
On yesterday‚s BBC1 lunchtime news, diplomatic correspondent James Robbins declared that US relations with Iran were "looking very murky because of the nuclear threat". (BBC1, 13:00 News, January 20, 2005)
Robbins meant, of course, the +alleged+ nuclear threat from Iran.
On the BBC's 18:00 news, Robbins again spoke of Iran "where the President is confronting the nuclear threat". (BBC1, 18:00 News, January 25, 2005)
Is this balanced, objective reporting by the BBC?
Even as the staggering catastrophe that has befallen Iraq continues to be played out, the BBC and other media are yet again preparing the public mind for war. If the public can be convinced that this latest threat‚ is real, then politicians can again unleash their bombers with impunity.
How many more innocent people have to die before journalists wake up to their moral responsibility to protect human life, to treat Third World nations as something more than Western playthings, to challenge warmongering propaganda, and to develop their powers of independent, rational thought?
[and end] - Pls. see Medialens below, for steps which can be taken.
HR - ''Journalists are killers too'' - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/54o4k
The mainstream media - owned by the concerns that will profit from
the next illegal act of war too - are forming the impression that again
a 'pre-emptive attack' and invasion of also this oil-rich nation is needed in their fake ''War on Terrorism''.
The bell for the next ''US Holocaust'' tolls ?

FPF - The 'spiked' Bloomberg text which - according to this Israeli information bureau - apparently had to disappear from Internet concerning the ongoing and 800 earlier inspections in 2003 in Iran by the IAEA when - like in Iraq - nothing was found and is found:
'Iran Refuses UN Uranium Demand, Is Rebuked by U.S.' (Update3)
Sept. 19 2004 - (Bloomberg) -- Iran refused a demand by the United Nations' nuclear watchdog to halt all uranium-enrichment activities, prompting a U.S. rebuke as the Islamic Republic faces possible economic sanctions.
The U.S. reproached Iran today for refusing an International Atomic Energy Agency resolution urging an immediate halt to Iranian enrichment-related activities. The body, which acknowledged Iran's right to enrich uranium, asked Iran to further open its atomic program to UN inspectors.
``Iran will drag out negotiations with the IAEA and the Europeans, who are unlikely to agree to sanctions because of their oil interests in Iran,'' Youssef Ibrahim, managing director of the Dubai, United Arab Emirated-based Strategic Energy Investment Group, said in a telephone interview.
The U.S. says Iran, site of the world's second-biggest oil reserves, is hiding a nuclear-weapons program and wants UN sanctions imposed on the country. New sanctions may force European oil companies such Royal Dutch/Shell Group to stop working in Iran.
Iran won't accept any UN demand to halt the enrichment of uranium, Hassan Rowhani, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in Tehran, the state-run IRNA news agency reported. Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and is only intended to generate energy, he said.
Iran has had more than 800 IAEA inspections in the last year, Hossein Mousavian, head of Iran's delegation to the IAEA, said this week.
Total SA, Europe's third-largest oil company, OAO Lukoil, Russia's top oil producer, and Norway's Norsk Hydro ASA are among other international oil companies working in Iran. The country is the second-largest oil producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries after Saudi Arabia.
U.S. Rebuke
The ``clock is ticking'' for Iran to stop its activities and cooperate with the IAEA, U.S. Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham said today in Vienna.
``We should all expect that Iran should follow the obligations and cooperate with the IAEA,'' Abraham said at a conference of the Global Threat Reduction Initiative, a movement backed by the U.S., Russia and International Atomic Energy Agency seeking to secure radioactive materials around the world.
Iran's suspension of its uranium-enrichment program since October 2003 was voluntary and could be extended, Rowhani said.
``Only dialogue can stop us from resuming (uranium- enrichment)
activities,'' Rowhani said.
Doubts about Iran's nuclear program are gone now that the country revealed the goals for the activities, he said. The International Atomic Energy Agency's resolution proved that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, Rowhani said.
The U.S. has failed to achieve its goal of seeking a UN Security Council resolution to impose sanctions on Iran, he said. The Iranian official didn't rule out the possibility of resuming nuclear talks with the U.S.
The U.S. is pleased the IAEA has set Nov. 25 as a deadline for Iran to cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons, Jackie Sanders, the head of the U.S. delegation, said yesterday.
Trade Sanctions
U.S. companies are prohibited by federal trade sanctions from investing in Iran. The U.S. law, known as the Iran-Libya Sanctions Act, hasn't kept European and Asian companies from operating there.
Shell and Spain's Repsol YPF SA signed an accord on Sept. 16 to build a liquefied natural-gas plant in Iran, which may take years to develop. Shell, an Anglo-Dutch oil company, produces oil from twofields in Iran and is bidding to develop more in the country.
``The U.S. sanctions haven't hurt Iran and if the U.N. sanctions are imposed I doubt they would be respected,'' Youssef said.
Russia, which is helping Iran develop its nuclear program, has also refused to back out of an $800 million project to build a nuclear unit at Bushehr on the Persian Gulf, Youssef said.
Iran recently retested its Shahab-3 missile in the presence of observers to prove it isn't afraid to use force to defend itself from a potential attack, Youssef said.
Israel, a U.S. ally in the Middle East, destroyed the Osirak nuclear
reactor in neighboring Iraq in 1981. [andend]

its about preparing for the iran war ..and that war against all muslims.
they did the same about 9 to 12 months prior to the iraq war with lots of similar so called documentaries. which also allowed the government to in sequence brief journos on some aspect of iraqs badness.
blair commited us to the war in 2003 for definite , we re providing the logistics (just like we did in lebanon) and we have had a dry run only weeks ago.
if you read scott ritter and seymour hershs articles the planning and the manner it is going to be fought are already in place.
the bbc if you notice is only running with anti islam/muslim stories these days.
I've decided not to get a TV licence after seeing this blatant zionist propaganda last night previewing their programme on Iran...this latest israeli propaganda is the last straw...i hope everyone on here does the same |
