anyone seen it? very interesting glimpse of a future thats very possible in the UK (minus the mass infertility part)

the 'on topic' reason i mentioned it is, in the opening scene there is a bomb blamed on a terrorist group, who are in fact a freedom group demanding the end to discrimination and racism.

Michael Caines character insinuates 'it was probably the government, every time they need a bit of support they do a bombing'

and later in the movie the lead 'terrorist' character reveals that the group has relinquished its terrorism and is pursuing other means and the government now essentially false flags all the terror for its own means

i was heartened and surprised to see this so blatantly in a movie - if none of you guys have seen it yet catch it now at a cinema near you - its a good-un and very relevant.

Thanks for the movie tips. I always like to be recommended a film to safeguard against wasting 2 hours of my life on nonsense.
As Chek says, V for Vendetta is very good and relevant if you haven't seen it, a modern version of Orwellian practice.

I have seen. Very courageous film, so glad it "slipped through the net" and made it into the multiplexes. Agree with you Iro re: Michael Caine's character telling us the Govt prob executed the bomb in the coffee shop etc. I would recommend this film to anyone and everyone and have been.

WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. It could so easily become this way. See the other thread "Muslim Witch Hunt" about Operation Sassoon. How much longer until another false flag event?

With V for Vendetta a perfect double bill!

Oh I would add that the infertility bit is not so far fetched. Sperm counts have fallen 25% in the West. Why? Toxic pharmaceuticals, pollution, electromagnetic smog???? Could take a big solar flare to knock out human fertility? Who knows?

I saw this yesterday and together with the person I went with, we were the only people in the cinema. This had nothing to do with the vegetable curry I had earlier.

The movie was nothing like I had come to anticipate, the baby being computer generated was a nice and unusual touch - it took on an almost cartoon quality which added to the surreal nature of the handheld camerawork.

I am not a big fan of Clive Owen and still think of him as 'Chancer' back in 1991, he has done well to make it to Hollywood given his limited acting ability.

The action sequences were amongst the best I have seen, the bit near the end with all the people being transfixed by the baby in the building - they had legs blown off and were still being shot from outside was disuturbing.

However, the ending was just plain daft, boat, fog, woman, baby, dead rower, Greenpeace turn up.
