The bomb factory you won't hear about
http://leninology.blogspot.com/2006/10/bomb-factory-you-wont-hear-abou t.html
Police officers raided a home in Lancashire on Monday night and uncovered a huge cache of chemicals used to make explosives. Officers say it is the largest haul of such chemicals ever found in this country. One man has already appeared in front of Burnley magistrates charged under the Explosives Substances Act 1883. Another man has also been charged after a raid on his house uncovered rocket launcher and a nuclear biological suit.
You'd have thought this would be national front page news, wouldn't you? After all the hype, at last we have solid evidence of terrorists attempting to perpetrate a murderous outrage on the population - prosecutors say the pair had "some kind of master plan".
Except, of course, that the men charged are not Asian Islamists, but white fascists. Robert Cottage, who has been charged for the explosives haul, stood for the BNP in Colne at the last elections.

BBC on unreported fascist bomb factory.
from Lenin's Tomb
http://urlsnip.com/365378
I wrote to the BBC asking why they had not covered the story that bat020 drew attention to of the huge bomb factory discovered in the hands of far right activists, and I got the following reply:
Dear ______,
Thank you for your email about the court appearance at Penine Magistrates of two men accused of possessing chemical explosives. It is indeed interesting. Unfortunately BBC TV news didn't know about the police find.
I would like to assure you the BBC takes very seriously its responsibility to report all issues fairly, accurately and impartially. This is as true of issues involving potential terror plots by former BNP activists or radical Islamists. The BBC has a long history of exposing the BNP and any past wrongdoing.
I have investigated how the story was missed. It appears a reporter from BBC Radio Lancashire investigated initial reports but the police "played it down". Our regional televison centre in in Manchester found out about the story only after it was reported in the Colne Times. By this time it was several days old. On investigation they discovered that reporting restrictions were in place which severely curtailed what could be said by the media.
Two arrested men are due to appear at Blackburn Crown Court on October 23rd, BBC TV News will attend the hearing.
Thank you for alerting us to this story.
Best wishes
Debby Moyse
Assistant to the Head of BBC TV News
Police played it down, reporting restrictions, we didn't hear about it. The trouble is, the BBC's excuses aren't completely threadbare: in cases of 'Islamic' terrorism, they would be very quick to hear about it from the police and the government, and no amount of playing down would be involved. On the other hand, a story being several days old has not always prevented the BBC from covering it. Realistically, they could so easily have made a very big top news story about it, and chose not to. Whether this is because they take their cue from the police and the government in such matters is, of course, not for me to say (they do). _________________ One Planet - One People - One Destiny

Actually considering we recently had to endure all the media rubbish about the so called liquid bomb plot which was often referred to as like 911 only worse it is extremely relevant. _________________ Only sheep need a leader. |

The ‘terror plot’ that didn’t fit
http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=1&subID=815
We’re only interested in the sort of terrorism that suits our paranoia, says matthew carr
In the early 1980s, Margaret Thatcher imposed a media ban on Sinn Fein and the IRA on the grounds that terrorists should be deprived the 'oxygen of publicity'.
Governments and terrorist experts have often depicted a symbiotic relationship between terrorists and the media, in which the former supposedly depend on the latter to broadcast 'messages' in the form of bombings, assassinations and atrocities.
But the public perception of terrorism is often shaped by selective media coverage, which concentrates exclusively on a particular version of 'terrorism', while ignoring incidents that fall outside this framework.
A revealing example of this process occurred last week when two men appeared separately in Burnley Magistrates' Court, charged under the 1883 Explosive Substances Act with possession of an explosive substance for an illegal purpose.
One of the accused was a BNP council candidate in last May's local elections in Colne, named Robert Cottage.
In a raid on his house, police found what they called "the largest amount of chemical explosives of this type ever found in this country".
The other was a retired dentist named David Jackson, who was allegedly found in possession of a rocket launcher and a nuclear biological protection suit.
Both men were accused by the prosecution of common involvement in "some kind of masterplan". What this masterplan consisted of is not yet known. Nor has the identity of the 22 chemical compounds found by police
been revealed.
But what is striking about their court appearance (they were remanded until October 23) is the failure of any mainstream newspaper or media outlet to report it at all.
It is not difficult to imagine what the response might have been had two Muslims been involved. There would have been banner headlines, police statements celebrating the prevention of another apocalyptic plot,
suggestions of a wider conspiracy with nebulous 'linkages' to al-Qaeda. There would have been a collective shudder at another averted outrage, experts holding forth on the dangers of dirty bombs and homemade WMD.
There would have been warnings of the ongoing threat to our 'values'. Above all, there would have been fear, all of it magnified by a credulous media, fed by inside information from nameless intelligence sources.
Instead there was total silence. In a week dominated by Muslim 'stories' in which veiled women and an unpleasant taxi driver constituted evidence of the alien, dangerous subculture in our midst, two white men accused of having explosives, a nuclear protection suit and a 'masterplan' fell outside the frame of the 'war on terror' and therefore did not get mentioned beyond local papers.
The same kind of selective coverage has occurred in the United States in the wake of 9/11, where the media and the US government regularly proclaim alleged Islamic 'sleeper cells' as confirmation of a vast terrorist
conspiracy, while passing over the arrests of men such as 'Doc Chaos', a self-professed 'anarchist-terrorist' who was arrested with large quantities of lethal chemicals in March 2003.
That same year, William Joseph Krar (left), a Texan white supremacist, was arrested in possession of a lethal arsenal, including a homemade cyanide bomb. Between them both men possessed more deadly chemicals than
have been discovered in the whole of Iraq, yet both cases passed virtually unmentioned in the US media.
Such silence is clearly not dependent on the degree of mayhem particular individuals or organisations might be willing to inflict, but on whether such mayhem belongs to the currently defined version of the terrorist threat.
In the United States, as in Britain, it seems that terrorists are not the only ones who benefit from the oxygen of publicity, as governments tell the public what they should and should not be afraid of.

Failure To Report BNP Weapons Cache
MPACUK, Monday, 09 October 2006
http://www.mpacuk.org/content/view/2823/34/
Several Rocket launchers, biological/nuclear suits and large amount of BNP literature were seized from the house of a retired dentist and his accomplice, a British National Party (BNP) electoral candidate.
The haul was amazingly the largest cache of weapons ever to be discovered in a house in this country reports a local north-west paper.
A RETIRED Grange dentist is accused of being part of a bomb plot after a record number of explosives were seized in a Lancashire town.
David Bolais Jackson, 62, of Trent Road, Nelson, was arrested on Friday in the Lancaster area after leaving his Grange practice for the last time.
Jackson was charged with being in possession of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose. However, it is unclear who or what the intended target might have been.
Police found rocket launchers, chemicals, British National Party literature and a nuclear or biological suit at his home.
The find came shortly after they had recovered 22 chemical components from the house of his alleged accomplice, Robert Cottage, a former BNP election candidate, who lives in Colne.
The haul is thought to be the largest ever found at a house in this country. The popular media coverage of this case is non-existent. One can only conclude that this is because the two BNP fascists were simply not Muslims and hence this was a non-story.

COMMENTS
Rory:
Actually, the situation is far worse than anyone here has noticed. As you rightly say, the police raid was reported by several northern papers but it was conspicuously absent from the national mainstream media (MSM).
I picked up the story from a blog, Lenin's Tomb, last Saturday and publicized it through several mailing lists and sent your office a copy. I also challenged both the BBC and ITN on their failure to report it.
To date, I have received no reply from either BBC or ITN but a friend of mine did.
The BBC came up with the pathetic excuse not to have noticed the raid when it happened and, later, that 'reporting restrictions' were put on the story. We don't know if these 'restrictions' were implemented by the police or by the government. When I asked a similar question I was given no reply.
It is very strange indeed that such 'restrictions' didn't stop at least three northern newspapers from reporting it in detail. Or did the 'restrictions' apply only to national TV and, if so, why?
Either the BBC, not for the first time, is lying or a national news blackout was implemented by the Blair government in collusion with the police. The whole affair is extremely disturbing, more so because we are told that this was the biggest explosives haul ever made in Britain.
So why is the BNP now receiving special treatment from the police and the government? Is it because, as many of us fear, that the BNP is being prepared as the hatchet-man and agent provocateur to do the dirty work of causing communal violence on behalf of the government?
After all, the Brits used that divide-and-rule technique in Ireland by infiltrating both the IRA and the UDP with its own agents. I am sure they do the same with the BNP.
Meanwhile, the givers of the Nobel Prize have decided that the BBC will not be a candidate for the prize due to the problems "we all know it's been having over the last few years", hence it is no longer considered a model of news reporting.

I smell a Gladio style Rat here.
Just emailed the guy myself.
Lost my temper, which I try not to do, but damn its so hard, when dealing with cowardly sycophantic serial judasees.
Dear Sir,
Dont you find it utterly shameful , that your organisation can give immense airtime to the farsical Chemical Bomb plot of recent infamy courtesy of sycophantic reporting to the Government script, whilst patently ignoring something far more threatening, such as a guy sat with a Rocket launcher in his arsenal ?
Or is it your belief that Muslims with nail polish and Baby milk constitute a greater threat to our livelihood ?
Shame on the mainstream media.
The term Judas springs immediately to mind.
Yours in absolute disgust.

The response from Channel 4 was both interesting and revealing. The reply from the BBC (Oooo! how COULD we have missed it!) was just an old fashioned whitewash. |

Hit the BBC where it hurts - in their pocket. Ditch your tv and save £130 quid a year.
Absolutely disgraceful. A cache of military weapons found, and a news blackout. Yet extended coverage of a barely existent plot, and then subsequently take the "michael" out of the UK public by throwing away your coca cola, mineral water and baby milk prior to your flight.
Hit these people where it hurts - in their wallets. Don't fly, don't buy their newspapers - they'll soon get the message......
Time the UK public got a spine.... |

A Tale of Two Bomb Plots.
LENIN's TOMB
http://leninology.blogspot.com/2006/10/tale-of-two-bomb-plots.html
One was without explosive materials, funding and knowledge. The other was with a huge cache of chemical explosives, the largest haul of such materials ever found on UK soil, a rocket launcher and a nuclear biological suit. One was widely reported, and the other one wasn't. One has been splashed across every television news programme and every newspaper in the country, while the other one was "played down" by police.
From The Register:
Dhiran Barot admitted planning a radioactive "dirty bomb" explosion which it was claimed would have caused "injury, fear, terror and chaos", and/or "fear, panic and social disruption". Barot also planned a coordinated series of attacks in the UK and US, with the "Gas Limos Project", involving three limousines filled with explosives and gas cylinders placed in underground car parks, being allegedly the principal attack planned.
The "mastermind" is claimed to have planned the attacks between 2000 and 2004, but the prosecution accepted that there was no evidence that he had obtained money to finance the plot, or that he had acquired bomb-making material, radioactive substances, limos or gas cylinders. Nor does there appear to be any indication that he knew where to source radioactive materials, how to build a dirty bomb, or how to set off sufficient gas cylinders in an underground car park to make a skyscraper collapse. Or indeed what the limo parking deal might be in the bowels of the World Bank HQ or the New York Stock Exchange, which were among the cosmopolitan list of targets.
Dhiren Barot's neighbours are shocked, not least as how a "nice Hindu boy" could have turned Muslim. Robert Cottage's neighbours are shocked because, although he is a fascist, he is also "good with the children", and drives a yellow bus taking handicapped children to school.
A bomb factory that isn't a bomb factory, a man with a rocket launcher, a nuclear biological suit, widely touted extremist connections, and a "master plan" who isn't a terrorist; and a terrorist "mastermind of a major conspiracy" who has no bombs, no funding, no knowledge of bombs, no proven extremist connections. Only a couple of the logical absurdities that we are expected to become inured to. _________________ One Planet - One People - One Destiny

As I stated earlier in this thread, I seriously wonder if there could be l a Gladio style Rat here ?
Ive been looking for a while now, for an article written about a certain David Myatt, another right wing head case, and his recent shennanigans.
It was kindly found for me today ;
http://rigorousintuition.blogspot.com/2005/08/nine-angles-of-separatio n.html
Perhaps these kinda connections, not to mention those alleged connections between Nick Griffin and UK intel, are the reason this whole dirty episode is being swept under the rug with such efficiency by our free and impartial media ? |

There was another story last year, reported to us by a distinguished supporter in the Muslim community in Birmingham. This story was only reported in an Urdu language British newspaper.
A landlord discovered what looked like a bomb factory in a room he had let. He reported it to the West Midlands police. They came around, searched the place and took it very seriously. Later some other police turned up and told the first lot not to pursue the case any further. The case was then dropped by the police.
Such incidents make me suspicious that there are Operation Gladio type false flag operations being carried out in the UK by the security services. Sometimes the police or the press stumble upon them. If the police do, they are called off the case by MI5 or Special Branch or somesuch.
If the press get hold of such a story, it may get published in a small circulation or local newspaper, but once the cat is out of the bag a "D-Notice" gets put upon it, which stops all future publication.
The way D-notices work is this. The press are regularly invited to government briefings. In return for this privilege they agree not to publish any story the government puts a D-notice on. Any publication or news service which breaches a government D-notice does not get invited to future government press briefings.
I doubt any editor will say: "I can't discuss that because there's a D-notice on it", a fact which probably accounts for the kinds of responses complainants have had from editors.
More worryingly, if the government decides that with the advent of the Internet the D-notice system is no longer working, they may well start looking at ways of censoring the Internet. After all they have managed to censor it in China. |
