Let me get this down to basics so that anyone browsing this forum will understand why we are all a little concerned.

At present the Internet is the only place where uncensored criticism of the Bush administration or the US Military can be aired. The news and print media and publishing are all to some degree under corporate control.

There is now a race to get the truth out to the world before the neocons get the internet to work for them, by manipulation and disinformation of the electronic media. The consider writers and journalists as us much the 'enemy' as those who fight with bombs and guns. They will be treated the same way as 'terrorists', presumably arrested and held without trial - perhaps in the compounds that are springing up all over the states and even in Europe.

When will this happen? Probably after another 'terrorist outrage', possibly
even more appalling than 911 , has rallied the public round the flag to the extent that anti-Americanism can become a capital offense.

The great playwrght Arthur Miller, whose play the Crucible exposed the witch-hunt of Mccarthyism, died a year ago. Where are the writers now to put their names on the line and stand up for freedom - while thy still can?
Why not Writers for 911 truth? Where are you all? Harold Pinter? Alan Bennett? Mark Ravenhill? We need you desperately now.
