I don't know if any one else saw Newsnight on BBC2 last night, but the dynamic duo of Gavin Essler and Mark Urban did their level best to whip up the 'Iranian Problem' without mentioning the REAL reason why Iran cannot be left alone - namely the new Iranian oil bourse trading in euros and not dollars.
We had spokesmen speaking on behalf of The Royal Institute for International Affairs (Chatham House) and The Council on Foreign Relations - both front organisations for our friends in the shadows. We also saw John Bolton (neocon hardliner and US Ambassador to the UN) speaking to AIPAC (American pro-Israel lobbying group) threatening Iran with dire consequences. We were also told that the Iranian President believes that the Mahdi (the Shia's hidden 12th Imman) is due for a return - but before that happens there must be war, chaos and destruction. All happy stuff! Interestingly, it was suggested time and time again that the changes needed in Iran would come from within the country, though the immediacy of the Iranian nuclear threat meant that US/coalition military strikes could not be ruled out after all the diplomatic stages were exhausted. Commentators in the studio reckoned that this could be months away or in one case, years away.
Reading between the lines, my take on this edition of Newsnight is this.
1. They deliberately left out the information concerning the oil bourse which is widely known about in economic circles. It stretches the imagination just too far to suggest that Newsnight's researchers did not know about this. Also, the fact that none of the expert commentators on Iran mentioned the oil bourse makes me very suspicious.
2. The fact that they featured Neocon/illuminati thinktanks which reassured us that military conflict, if indeed there was to be any, was many months away, makes me feel that something is going to happen in the next few weeks. We all know that the oil bourse must not be allowed to flourish with Venezuela and other anti-American countries watching in the wings (Syria, though not oil rich, has already changed to euros).
3. No mention was made of the fact that nearly all Iranian oil is in Khuzestan were unrest is growing with bombings etc. and which is in close proximity to Coalition forces in Iraq.
4. They want us to believe that the Iranian President believes in weirdo prophesies and is obviously happy to organise a good war if his Mahdi will return to enlighten us all and to set up a new paradise. So if another 9/11 style event happens - we all know who to blame!
I shall be contacting Newsnight to see what they have to say about the Oil Bourse. |
