The 9/11 Truth Campign UK and Ireland and The West Yorkshire Truth Campaign have withdrawn support for this event due to unwanted references in the publicity material and lack of consultation as to the connections with the Campaigns and use of particular brandings from the WYTC
As far as I know D&A have withdrawn from this event, though with usual communication problems, I can't be certain
By all means attend - I will as an individual rather than a representative- but this has all turned out rather messy in my opinion

My guess would be that promotional literature may have included inciteful language of some kind.

What would be good is if this is the case, a scan of this can be obtained and posted.

We need to keep an eye on any "agent provocateur" tactics or those who wish to use the issue in an inciteful way because they have their own agenda.

As more people "wake up", the "anger level" is going to increase...

In a nutshell, a few people were quite understandably offended because the posters had the image of the all seeing eye over the uncapped pyramid - generally taken to be an illuminati and freemason symbol. However, the person who pulled the image off the web had not realised that this particular image had had the star of David superimposed over it, and many people, took offence, rightly or wrongly, that that meant that the organisers were anti-semitic.

Knowing the person who created them, I believe it was an honest mistake, and this person has since removed the image from the posters.

It is a shame as he has suffered quite a lot of stress this week due to the distress he has felt by upsetting people. The event is one where people of all religions are invited, and I for one am still very much happy to attend as a pannelist and speaker.

The phrase Unspinning the Truth was also used on the poster, which had not been authorised. So many felt that the 911 Truth Movement would be compromised with the idea that it was anti-semitic because of being associated with the image on the posters.

All in all, there have been a lot of people upset about this. But I have not been upset, and a few of us have offered gentle guidelines for the organisers for future reference.

I did recommend that Mind the Gap be shown, but I think that what will now be shown is Short Changed, as Loose Change is quite long.

So yeah, I am looking forward to this and think it will be an interesting night.

Thanks for those words of calm wisdom, Simon.

The lesson we should all take from this is that clear communication is the key to running successful events. And we have to think strategically about what we do - we are questioning a very powerful status quo, and we have to take care that we don't offer up any hostages to fortune.
