I'm not to sure where this should go so I'm gonna post it here. . .

I visited London at the end of last week and spent a while in Parliament Square talking to two volunteers theres who are keeping up Brian Haw's peaceful protest while Brian is in court this week.
For those of you who don't know Brian Haw had a huge peace protest right outside the Houses of Parliament (or the job centre for the rich...) and after a law was passed last year making it illegal to protest within 1km of parliament, the police went at 2am and destroyed the whole thing. He is in court today and tomorrow for not taking it down, despite it being a peaceful, peace protest.

Might be worth visiting his sites for more info':

What a man, what a hero.

Does this country, just create one man like him? For all the injustice, the greater injustice is the apathy. Quite depressing and sad really. Glad I have faith.

After more than 5 years of personal sacrifice, hardship, harrassment and violence against him I think 'collectively' we should be nominating Brian Haw for an honour. He's much more deserving than most that get them.

For details of how to nominate see:-

http://www.honours.gov.uk/nominate.aspx

"To be in with a chance of seeing your candidate on the Honours List, make sure your nomination has what it takes to make it all the way to Buckingham Palace.

Has your nominee:

made a difference to their community or field of work?
brought distinction to British life and enhanced its reputation?
improved the lot of those less able to help themselves?
displayed moral courage and vision in making tough choices and hard applications? "

Sounds like him to me.

warra laff - the bravest peace campaigner in the world is being branded a terrorist by little (yes, I mean little) Hitler John Reid and the Metropolitan police chiefs.
Boy are Scotland Yard's parasitic chiefs and their lawyers out of touch - what a bunch of taxpayers money wasting Nazi crooks they are.
Yes, an honour is most appropriate for Brian Haw... who has put his money where his mouth is more than just about anyone else on earth.

The anti-war campaigner Brian Haw's peace vigil in Parliament Square could be exploited by terrorists wanting to bomb Westminster, a court was told yesterday.

Brian Haw arrives at magistrates' court in central London

Haw's placards outside the Houses of Parliament could be used to conceal a device planted by extremists wanting to strike a "devastating blow to the heart of democracy".

The Metropolitan Police's concerns came to light as Haw, 57, appeared in court to answer charges of breaching conditions on his demonstration imposed under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005.

Hugo Keith, prosecuting, told Marylebone Magistrates' Court: "Brian Haw is a well-known figure in Parliament Square. He's demonstrated since June 2, 2001 and lives, sleeps and eats on the pavement, initially protesting over sanctions in Iraq, now protesting against Government policy over Iraq."

Mr Keith said that on May 9 and 16 the Met Police notified Haw of conditions imposed on his demonstration and on May 16 a breach of those conditions was recorded.

Mr Keith told the court: "It's not suggested Mr Haw poses a terrorist threat. What concerns the Met Police is the risk his unique position in Parliament Square may be exploited by terrorists wanting to strike a devastating blow to the heart of democracy."

He explained that police were concerned that a bomb might be concealed behind Mr Haw's placards. "These conditions are necessary to bring that risk down to an acceptable level," he added.

It is claimed Haw failed to maintain his camp to a required size, had possessions which would have allowed people to secrete things within them and failed to maintain the site so anyone glancing at it could see if a suspicious object was hidden there.

Haw denied at an earlier hearing that he had breached the conditions.[/q]

I have long suspected that Brian Haw could indeed be harbouring some nasty dirty bomb behind all those badges he wears on his cap.

The placards have always looked suspiciously "fat" to me and could herald a new phase in this cunning war on democracy.

I was on a demo recently when we all had to switch from slow time chanting to quick time running when we realised that the placards carried by some obvious Al Qaeda types had calor gas bottles and smoke detectors gaffer taped to them.

What was planned as a peaceful 1000 strong street level exercise turned into a narrowly averted terrorist outrage when we realised that the Al Q infiltrators had all, so as not to attract attention, discretely arrived in limousines, and, during the march, were surrounded by "buildings".

Explosive placards with cleverly concealed gas bottles and smoke detectors have no place in a peaceful demonstration against the tyranny that Britain now faces, irrespective of the method of transport used to conceal them.

An explosive placard is, after all, an explosive placard and can cause just as much harm to the heart of democracy if it is delivered by limousine or by bicycle, or concealed behind a cap badge.

Brian Haw aka al-Parliamenti is a known Al Q terror chief, has previously worked for a well known bottled gas supplier and is a world leader in origami techniques. Just think what could have happened.

We should all be grateful that our ever vigiliant security services have acted swiftly to thwart the "flat pack placard terror plot".
