There are many like...what happened to that 'popular mechanics person who effed up bigtime on Arizona radio and promised to get back to the presenter with evidence of twin tower terrorist DNA? The same chap claimed he had access to classified photos of a central section of Building 7 gouged out by falling debris pre symetrical collapse, then there was the FOI action on the 'Bin Ladin 911? I dunnit' home video he carelessly left for his old colleagues in the CIA to find. Weren't we told 'Loose Change' the final cut would be shown in cinemas?
Can you add any to the list? |

You are hoolarious, just like your icon there (forget his name).
I always thought telecasters were the unsexiest designed solid body electric guitars, designed by a committee. |

It actually took me quite a few years before settling with one particular model of guitar. I have a considerable collection and it includes about 15 or so telecasters. In the event of a fire (hopefully not one caused by a crashing aircraft, although a hologram would be ok), and I could only rescue one instrument - it would be a really cheap Squier that I have customised - it has three pickups, two humbuckers and a single-coil. It is extremely light and cost me virtually nothing to purchase or make.
Telecasters are unquestionably my favourite guitar, particularly natural finish, I have three lite ash naturals of differing spec and a range of other teles in various guises. Some of the cheap off-the-shelf copies are actually better than my expensive Fender Esquire which although is sublime in terms of playability, it is sonically very weak and despite a boost from a valve amp, it only really comes alive with my Boss GT8 adding that extra missing element.
Never liked strats, they always seemed too flamboyant and curvy like if Xena Warrior Princess became a landscape gardener, she'd use one as a shovel. _________________ I completely challenge the official version of events - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC -I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC |

Are you going to pedal your virtuosity on youtube? Maybe you have already.I always say it's the player not the guitar, I saw a flying V metalic blue ukelele the other day! |

I'm terribly sorry, but I can't just let that pass without comment as if it never happened.
If Strats are the shovels in the gardening milieu of the mythic female TV warrior world, Teles would be used for hammering in fence post spikes. |

I actually used to play in a Genesis tribute band called The Lamb Lies (old Genesis more than new). We went through many lead vocalists, but ended up with a female who was exceptionally good but totally incongruous with the vibe generated by Peter Gabriel, despite the fact she looked like him. I used to love the long complicated solos of pieces like Firth Of Fifth etc, but this was some time ago and I would have to at least run through them a few times to find that 'zone' again.
Telecasters have that raw simplistic format (although I do have one with a Bigsby) and lack of bespoke modern armaments such as a Floyd Rose and obligatory full two octave neck (however my Tony Iommi signature SG has 24 frets).

I should hasten to add that I would dearly love to have a Tele (or an Esquire) in my collection because the maple neck ones I've plinked about on had a nice feel.
I'm also ashamed to add that long, long ago I let go the chance to own an original early Gibson SG type 24-fret Les Paul, because when I turned up at the guy's door and it wasn't the rounded single cutaway Peter Green type, I instantly lost interest.
I could probably retire to the Bahamas on what you would get for it now... |

A fine brand from the days when things got made in the western world.
They may never had the caché of Gibson, Fender, Guild or Gretsch, but I do recall borrowing a well played in Washburn acoustic at one time which I was sorry to have to return after a while. |
