Paget & Quest - Two Whitewashes In A Week

In all their scheming over Paget, the inquest and the tenth anniversary of Diana's 'accidental death' I wonder if the establishment factored in the possible impact of Lord Stevens' weak handling of the enquiry into corruption in football (a leaked email suggests he caved in to pressure from Premiership clubs) might have on the above. What coverage there was of Quest was scathing and Stevens' (undeserved) reputation for impartiality was called into question.

I would be very interested to hear from other posters if they have heard or read high profile commentators expressing scepticism over Paget as a result.

Well the report for Stevens is still come - how can he produce an even vaguely credible report into collusion in N Ireland, and at the same time ensure that no top soldiers/spooks/politicians are accused of murder.
