The new Coke Zero advert features early morning commuters freezing in their tracks to stare up at WTC style building.

Is it me, or is this advert pulling some strings?

I don't think the ad means anything either, but I still think Fallious is far saner than anyone who rushes out to buy Coke Zero.

That ad reminded me of this -

Wow. Take it easy, you kookie lot. It's not like I wrote a friken essay about space beams and holograms.

Regardless, it's always interesting to see where the narrow minded posters really stack their chips.

It's aspartame-laden piss,(your own would be much healthier) and best avoided at all costs

Can we start a new thread where people can write down drinks that DONT have "arsenicthame" in them?

I cant think of any off the top of my head except water (even thats getting dicey these days).

I might start drinking the Distilled water you get for batteries in Halfords Laughing

Good question Callum.

I don't do "soft" drinks because they all contain poison.

The vast majority of cordials do too but I have found one that doesn't have aspartame in it - Roses Lime Juice Cordial with good old fashioned sugar as the sweetener.

Avoid chewing gum too and check your foods, if you buy processed muck because it's creeping into the food chain.

Any list will have to be constantly updated as they are sneaking it in everywhere they can. I see it added to many non-diet fizzies too. I also see the print is getting smaller even as our eyesight deteriorates...

Are you up to speed on Codex Alimentarius?

I can think of a downside to Coke Zero.....Phenylalanine giving your body cancer and brain tumors.

I once saw a concession stand in the middle of town handing out free mini coke zeros to all the kids. I marched up to the dstributor and began to tell her about the health problems that Phenylalanine cuases and that it is also extremely addictive and that she is distributing a potentially harmful and addictive product to children....well lets just say it was a waste of time, I should have looked at her hair first to know where her priorities in life were becuase she just giggled like a moron and asked if I was serious Rolling Eyes THEN SHE ASKED ME IF I WANTED A CAN!!!! I just said 'Your a moron' and walked off Laughing .

It was cool though becuase when I got just a bit further there was a guy talking to peaple about a mental health charity and I got into a big discussion about Rumsfeld and Phenylalanine, he knew everything so it was a relief to know that not everyone is stupid.

Well, from their website -

Quote:
Soft drinks are an enjoyable source of fluid, which is
essential to good health. In combination with a varied diet
and regular activity, soft drinks can provide a refreshing
and positive contribution to everyday living.

Quote:
THE SAFETY OF ASPARTAME
Scientists have been examining aspartame extensively for more than
three decades. It is one of the most thoroughly studied ingredients used
in food and drink and has consistently been found to be safe.

That's me reassured!
I particularly like the first comment about fluid. Wonderful use of bad logic;
a/fluids are essential for health
b/coke is a fluid
c/coke is essential for health

A bit like;

a/fluids are essential for health
b/Domestos is a fluid
c/Domestos is essential for health

Just had a pointer to an old post by FlameSong about Coke Zero marketing... looking a little more likely now eh?

flamesong wrote:
The latest issue of Private Eye has a short article about the rebranding of Diet Coke as Coke Zero in which it states that:

Private Eye wrote:
This month sees the launch of Coca-Cola's new concoction, Coke Zero, with all the cross media marketing splurge you'd expect from the brand who invented the regeneration game.

On the back of the snafus that accompanied the launch of New Coke in 1985 (which everyone hated) and its spring water Dasani two years ago (which turned out to be gently carcinogenictap water), you'd have thought Coke would want anything but controversy with it's latest multi-million pound launch.

Which is why Coke Zero's packaging is somewhat surprising - it features what look like collapsing towers set against a black, apocalyptic background, and all of these next to the word Zero.

Coke has often been accused of being tasteless... but rarely in this sense.

It has been suggested that Coke have employed subliminal images to market their products in the past and it may be a mere coincidence that shortly after claims that female breasts were depicted by the bubbles in glass in the Diet Coke artwork that it was withdrawn.

http://www.nineeleven.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=2853

Whatever your opinion of the likelihood of genuine collusion to produce marketing which reminds people of 9/11, the fact that it actually HAS on two independent occasions, is certainly a strong indicator that aspects of it DO remind people.

I think the debate should be: Is this a concious effort, or an unintended coincidence? In turn, that might be most easily answered by asking: Did the PR firm read the 'Private Eye' article before producing the 'tower' advert? If so, I think that's case closed Wink
