Mods: This post can be deleted or moved. I tried to post in the FAQ/Help section but it is locked for us minions.
Recently I'm having issues logging in to this site. In addition when editing or sending a post I've found the browser can crash/hang or dupe entries.
I left it as I thought it may just be a local issue with my cookies/whatever but i've seen a few posted by other where it looks like the same has happened to them. _________________ http://exopolitics.org.uk

Well the point is i can load most other sites fine.
If we work out what browsers we are using it may be a cookie issue linked to that system.
I'm on F Fox 2.0 if this helps. _________________ http://exopolitics.org.uk

No problems here with IE7 ... and no changes to site that would affect browser behaviour i.e. javascript.
Please provide more information about your browser types, pages that cause problems and dates/times if possible.
Firefox 2.0 was unstable when I installed it on OS X 10.4 with all latest updates. I reverted back to 1.5.x and no problems since. Camino, Firefox 1.5.x, IE6 and IE7 have been working perfectly here on Windows and OS X.
Login problems should only be affected by cookie data not being processed properly. Make sure that you delete all temp. files in Windows and run full virus and malware scans - try scans in Safe Mode on Windows systems.
There could be some other network or Apache related problems but I have not noticed any issues here. |

I've got the same problems. Pages won't load when the link is clicked and it's necessary to frequently reload. I assumed the bb code had been 'tweaked'.
Safari on OSX mostly but it's the same on Firefox. |

Well I've just checked and it's only loading one cookie, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.
edit - Opps no a google cookie just came up despite the fact I've only got one nineeleven page open in my browser.
ID=101cdXXXXXXce983:TM=117XXXXXX:LM=117XXXXXX:S=XXXXXX
Anyone know what sort of a cookie that one is? |

No tweaks to phpBB code that would lead to problems with forums links, posting or logins. Only changes to code relating to signing up of members have been (very recently) made - no connection whatsoever to forum links, posting or login issues.
It is possible that Apache may have been less responsive at times (recently) thus leading to double posting and login issues i.e. slow response and/or non-complete delivery of content leading to second click or (partially) dropped (login etc.) data/cookies/pages. These symptoms could also be down to PW network issues e.g. dropped packets, routing problems, load balancing probs. etc. Could also be database related ... need more info. really.
Keep an eye on the problems and report back anything that you experience. Once we've got enough info. we can harass PW support. |

And the same with me too - really difficult getting in, submitting a post often leads to duplicate entries. I would add that this is most apparent in the latter part of the day, no probs early on. Last night it was the worst it has been. _________________ I completely challenge the official version of events - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC -I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC - I AM NOT A 9/11 TRUTH CRITIC |

I've had the same problems... links taking a long time to begin loading, double posts because of supposed timeouts etc.
This smells like a denial of service attack on the boards host ip.
Or it might just be your server is having hard drive issues? _________________ "Thought is faster than arrows, and truth is sharper than blades." - David Gemmell | RealityDown wiki |

Did the mail go through Linda? If it was a PM you can check in your folder, and if it's showing the respondent has read it. Not sure about emails, I havn't tried that faciility. |

Thanks IronSnot, it was a pm to a poster on the forum.
It was sent in the end (twice).
Cheers.

I'm getting this error code quite often on my posts;
Could not connect to smtp host : 110 : Connection timed out
According to this guy it's a server issue;
