|
|
It's interesting that the most successful petition campaign on the Government's petition website with, at the time of writing, 730,169 names (25 times the nearest rival with 29,629) is now tarnished with the brush of terrorism - thereby discrediting its cause.
All three of the recent letter bombs have been overtly linked to road pricing schemes. In fact, even after the first letter bomb somebody on Radio 4 suggested that somebody with a grudge about speed cameras could be responsible.
I remember the hightened terrorism threat and the tanks at the airports during the days preceeding the biggest ever anti-war march in British history on 15th February 2003. |

Oh my word. This is sickening and so obvious.
Will these be the first white terrorists? |

You would think so eh? However watching the BBC lunchtime news today made me think otherwise. Their main story was the letter bomb one, and during the whole 10ish mins of it, the word terrorist was not mentioned once.
The following story was the 'terror alert' one (in which 2 people have just been released). Of course these people are terrorists for 'plotting' to kidnap and murder someone. So why aren't the people who are using letter bombs labelled 'terrorists'?? Imagine it was muslims who were behind it, think how different the news would be!
Since when is kidnapping/murder terrorism anyway? What about the man who kidnapped that girl from her bath, had his way with her, then threw her out a moving car? Why isn't he labelled a terrorist then?
The media is driving me mad |

Hang in there Gypsum - don't let the bas tards grind you down mate.
Flamesong - superb thinking - I like your style.
BBC just now:
This could be the work of a disgruntled car owner !
That narrows it down a bit then.
Road pricing anyone ? _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

I'd advise truth seekers to hang back a little on this one. This could just be a 'grudge bearer' who may well have vented his spleen recently against other targets that don't fit the current pattern. The Capita incident may have forced Plod's hand because it was a high profile target.
Just because a lone nut didn't kill Kennery doesn't mean they don't exist! |

Thanks for the audio.
I didn't quite understand what Peter Power was getting at when he suggested that speed cameras were pernicious because people would be prosecuted for their honesty for owning up to speeding. |

I think it relates to the fact that you can deny it was the registered owner driving the vehicle at the time of the offence.
If only there were speed cameras that could recognize you... |

That's true but only if somebody else is willing to take the rap and say that they were driving. |

Howie, did he call Radio Newcastle or did Radio Newcastle call him? There's big difference.
Who was the presenter? It's been a while since I listened to Radio Newcastle. |
