Yvonne Ridley Agenda show axed by Islam channel

I find this very curious.

It was last year, around Autumn time, two or so weeks before the Global Peace and Unity event ( in which William Rodriguez was the last speaker in ), that Yvonne Ridley came to my University to participate in a panelled discussion on Campus Watch, Spying and Islamophobia.

It was at the end of the talk that I went up to her and I gave her two DVDs, "911 Mysteries" and "Mind The Gap". She thanked me for giving them to me and said she will watch them. However, before that, she was asking what this about, a colleague next to her muttered something like "conspiracy rubbish". She then said, its because the US is so secretive and has not answered anything that people come to so many assumptions, or something along those lines.

It was GPU, an annual exhibition by Islam Channel at the Excel in Docklands, London, that she managed to meet William Rodriguez and others from the 911 Truth Campaign. She spoke herself being always very much warmly welcomed by the Muslim Community especially those that watch Islam Channel and Al-Jazeera (something else she also got sacked from). She then at the request of William, went on and introduced William Rodriguez to a crowd of about 20,000 and indeed, he had people cheering and jeering and out of their seats.. it was fantastic! Even though he was only permitted 20 mins max to speak and the show had already stopped airing on Islam Channel live before he had begun speaking.

However, Yvonne Ridley saw fit that he get that airtime he was denied, so invited him to be interviewed on her Agenda Show on Islam Channel, on the 1st of December, not so long after the GPU. The Agenda Show has also had David Shayler on it also.

However... I read in the Socialist Worker, 24 February 2007 edition, the following...

I'd certainly question what was the agenda here (NPI) but I'd be more suspicious of Yvonne Ridley's motives than anything else.

She is at best a lipstick Muslim, a political opportunist and at worst something considerably more nefarious.

Having seen her talk many times alongside other members of Respect, the 'respectable' front of the SWP, I'd take much of her legend with a pinch of salt - especially her capture by the Taliban and conversion to Islam.

I have always thought it hilarious to consider the possibility that the Taleban (one of the worst governments in the last 50 years) may actually have been right when they arrested her for being a spy!

Assumptions aside,...

even if her and the Agenda programme being scrapped has nothing to do with 911 Truth. It is still interesting to know what the reasons are for the programme being scrapped.

Also, do we have for certainty any knowledge that she actually is interested in 911 Truth? I have not been able to see WR on her Agenda Show on Google or YouTube as of yet, though did see the one with Shayler on it.

I'm not particularly interested in whether she has any interest in 9/11 Truth other than to believe that she would be a liability. Given her proximity to Respect and the SWP, I'd regard her as a Trojan Horse.

Whilst I have never doubted that this 'movement' is infiltrated by people who have a hidden agenda and are something other than what they say they are (indeed I assume this to be the case), I see no value in speculating in public as to who is or is not a shill. Hard evidence that Yvonne has a hidden agenda, fine, but speculation on a public bulletin board is unhelpful IMO

How can you throw scorn on the courage and motives of someone who has done so much to get the hidden WOT and Neocon agendas into the mainstream?
How can you paint her as the purpetrator rather than the victim of censorship? Where are you coming from with this attack?

So my point is... how can we help her and put out a critique of the way the mainstream media has messed her around?

What can be done to help another muzzled soothsayer?

In mitigation, I have never made any public speculation about anybody involved in 9/11 Truth regardless of how I have felt in private. Yvonne Ridley is, as far as I am aware, not involved.

However, in another thread you will see a photo gallery of 15 alleged counter ops posted by somebody whose motives are not clear. To date no moderator has questioned it.

Hear! Hear! To me she is a courageous woman, speaking out for the oppressed. If some people want to look for shills, I suggest they look in the mirror.

I think the important point here, is that "somehow", a great political slot that attempted to wake up some of our fellow 'proles' has suddenly been dissapeared.

The question we should all be asking, is who has the clout to make this kind of tragedy happen ?

My guess is that its the same crowd who can murder JFK, RFK, JP1, Yitzak Rabin, Princess Di and others with impunity.

I am still waiting to see a response from Islam Channel on their decision to axe her and her show so suddenly without warning.

If anyone comes across one, please do let us all know. Complaints have been bombarding Islam Channel like crazy.
