Well its still running: but it catagorically has nothing to do with Icke: there is NO moderation on there at all: the depth of abuses posters get away with are stagering: multiple ID's, orchestrated character attacks, personal abuse, the works. The code of conduct is a sham: it is never enforced: it also never had respect for Ickes name or IP...so its a shame that Icke proved "too hot" for ATS because at least there was respect there

Icke removed his name from "The Forum" (as it is now known) in mid december: the url, however has remained unchanged, presumably to benefit from search engine listings

The site admin, Harris, is a nice enough fellow, in fact I have a great deal of respect for him, although I feel him to be misguided: his view is that any moderation is a bad thing as it forces people to rely on and demand it

I do maintain a prescence there, but its safe to say I know what its good for: heres a sample from this weekend:

http://www.davidickeforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25681&start=105&po stdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

I certainly couldnt blame anyone for seeing it as a nest of rampant paranoia and delusion, much to the detriment of the genuine and honest members (many of whom are now enjoying the calm and clarity at Illusions)

I have found the process of posting there overall to be a strengthening and empowering one in terms of personal expression in the face of gatekeeping: any other forum is mild in comparison: but I reccomend it to no-body...I wouldnt want that advice on my concience: not for the faint hearted

Yes, thanks. Any other suggestions of forum examples to look at, both good and bad, to guide us in finding the best balance between on the one hand freedom of thought and expression, tolerance of difference and on the other hand maintaining a sense of order so that the space remains useful for posters, projects credibility and does not promote hatred, violence and intolerance?

here is another example: http://www.gnn.tv/forum/forums.php

Why is anyone turning their backs on the events of 9/11 and what happened?
was, with respect, the topic of my original post as a news editor. It did not relate to the holocaust, neither did it relate to David Icke.

With regards to this, I would suggest that if folk wish to discuss David Icke or the holocaust then they open a topic on that subject. But then, a site dedicated to 9/11 and its associated events would not be a fitting place for such would it?

So why begin this diversionary twist?

Sincerely
Keith Harris

Keith, I think I liked you more when you were still working with Orville.

Hello Keith...although I can only agree that this discussion has evolved somewhat from your intitiating post, you question is not a simple easily encapsulated one: there are many factors that come into play with understanding how convincing evidance of complicity in 911 can demotivate and dis-empower as easily (if not more easily) than light the inner fire of seeking justice

For my part I apologise for any percpetion of irrelevancy

I can sumerise my understanding of the discussion so far as follows:

The question of peoples adverse emotional response to the suggestion of premeditation was brough up...this brought up comparisons to peoples reaction to holocaust revisionism...this in turn led to some moves to consider the validity of that, and also information sources stongly suggesting 911 to be a "jewish" planned event:in turn this was mostly treated with a negative reaction, and there were calls for moderation..the difficult balancing act of providing moderation were then discussed, especially with regard to enabaling a thorough examination of all possibilities without discrediting the calibre of the campaign to a casual observer...my forum was then name checked as a possible model for providing an environment for discussion that did not impose on free speach...then other sites were mentioned as other possible models of unrestricted discussion...having experiance of one of those sites, I gave a POV on it

However, quite rightly you ask for a return to the initial theme of the thread, and Im happy to contribute to that, I'll return with a post in a while

Good points John and thanks for that - I was just getting concerned that it was drifting off into a kind of fudge. Debate is the focal point of getting at the truth, and yes the truth is entwined with all aspects of thought, perceptions and preconceptions.

I admire the point raised by an earlier post:
"Inevitably, negatively-inclined people will pop up from time to time and attempt to disrupt and divert us from our main issue. I'd say let such people can have an airing like everyone else, they shouldn't be banned, I don't believe in censorship because the odd person might come along who is merely muddled or distressed (hence a bit aggressive to start with) rather than fundamentally negative and we should be ready to help such people; also, people might have genuinely relevant information or an original view but not be that terrific at putting these across; again, their aggression might denote frustration rather than ill-will. "

And as for Orville, gladly my own ratings on the net are far higher lol.
