Govt Misconduct, Not Truthers, Most Insulting to 9/11 Heroes

Toxic air, abuse of recovery process and pothole scandal is the real disgrace

A popular tactic to shut down debate on behalf of debunkers is to claim that asking questions about the official 9/11 story is insulting to the victims, and yet it is the progenitors of that myth, the government itself, that through its post-9/11 actions has inflicted the most misery and suffering upon ground zero heroes and victims.

Frothing Neo-Con attack dogs like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, along with high profile 9/11 truth TV and newspaper hit pieces put out by the BBC and their ilk, have all regurgitated the emotional rhetoric that having skepticism towards the official 9/11 fairy tale is a direct attack on the memories of those lost on 9/11 and their loved ones.

As is usually the case with arguments put forth by debunkers, the exact opposite is true.

Many of the 9/11-related court proceedings against the government and the educational efforts that tie in with them, were organized directly by 9/11 victim groups. Bill Doyle, the head of the largest 9/11 families organization, states that around half of his members have serious questions about the attacks. Doyle himself lost his own son in the collapse of the twin towers and says the 9/11 Commission Report is "a total fallacy."

In addition, the most outrageous misconduct and deliberate abuse visited upon victims, ground zero heroes and family members post-September 11, was unleashed not by 9/11 truthers, but by the government itself.

How did the government treat rescue personnel and EMT's who courageously searched for survivors and victims after the attack?

"Condoleezza Rice's office gave final approval to the infamous Environmental Protection Agency press releases days after 9/11 claiming the air around Ground Zero was "safe to breathe," internal documents show," reported the New York Post last year.

The ground zero rescue workers who bravely dug through the rubble of the twin towers paid a heavy price for believing what their government told them about 9/11, that the toxic air was safe to breathe, and 20% are now dying as a result of it, while many others are forced to live the rest of their lives gasping for air through heavy breathing apparatus.

Not only did the government know on the day itself that rescuers were being exposed to harmful dust, they also ordered misleading information to be given to the public, they ordered scientific research results on the air to be falsified, they allowed residents to return to their homes in the immediate vicinity knowing the air was corrosive and lethal and, to top it all off, they have since embarked on a collective program to block compensation and funding of health programs because that would be an admission of guilt.

How does the government treat the 9/11 heroes who were most active in trying to get justice for their compadres who were poisoned by the toxic air?

Major Mike McCormack, a 9/11 toxic dust whistleblower, a ground zero hero and one of the individuals influential in the release of documents proving a government cover-up that deliberately put police, firemen and rescue personnel at risk, was raided by a New York SWAT team - who ransacked his home for three hours after he was arrested.

"I said shame on all of them....yesterday I was recognized as a national hero....they chose to humiliate me....they basically flushed my life down the toilet for no reason whatsoever," said McCormack.

McCormack said that around 75% of police, firemen and rescue personnel that he had personally spoke with now believe there is a cover-up pertaining to 9/11 and that many had been threatened that "if they ever open their mouth their pensions are at risk."

How does the government treat firefighters who frantically tried to recover the bodies of their colleagues during the cleanup operations?

As soon as the precious $200 million worth of gold bullion was fully recovered from ground zero in November 2001, a policy of "scoop and dump" was enacted to clear the site as quickly as possible, despite the fact that nowhere near all of the human remains had been recovered. Rudy Giuliani immediately ordered the firefighters removed from the rubble and threatened those that refused to leave with arrest.

To this day, the remains of hundreds of innocent victims of the September 11 attacks are still sickeningly buried in the world's largest rubbish dump, Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island, where it has been declared by New York officials that they will stay for ever. Officials, citing financial constraints, have refused to make any concessions and wish to leave those victims to rot in the ground with acres of stinking trash.

The International Association of Firefighters chose to snub Giuliani's presence at a recent forum, "Because of the egregious way he treated our fallen and those attempting to pursue a dignified recovery of the citizens and firefighters that lost their lives that horrific day," according to its representative Jeff Zack.

How does the government treat the dignity of the remains of other innocent victims who perished in the towers?

A case brought by family members of those killed in the attacks has presented evidence that "Debris that may have contained bits of bone from victims of the World Trade Center attacks was used to fill potholes and pave city roads."

Government sanitation workers were paid to clear up small pieces of debris that included human remains of the victims, load them up on tractors, and use them to repair roads.

Let it never be said that asking questions of the government about 9/11 is insulting and hurtful to the victims, when the government itself has exploited the political and financial bounty of 9/11, and through its conduct in the aftermath of the attacks, has harmed, harassed, abused and disrespected the heroes and the victims who died that day.
