John Reids latest news release. I quote (italics added by me) "Think the British public are getting too relaxed with all this nice weather we have been having its time to remind them why we are getting our boys killed in Iraq and Afghanistan just as we get near voting time

Seem to remember reading an article that it was a tactic to raise and lower security alert levels as propaganda against the ordinary bloke in the street.

On an aside, the army were recruiting in our local shopping centre with their nice displays of fully laden back packs and guns and invitations to learn a trade, make good mates see the world and do exciting sports. (not a word about being trained to kill others ) I asked one strapping soldier his opinion or his mates opinions about being in Iraq or Afghanistan "we dont have opinions we just do as we are ordered". Number 1 qualification to be a soldier "mindless"

He was on GMTV2 this morning spouting about the following in the build up to the elections...

1. Terrorism and UK being at it's highest level of threat.
2. Increased requirements for ID cards (Inc. Finger prints and Iris Scans).
3. People being concerned with Immigration including how the UK's population can only be as large as the economy allows. (I assume he means the indigenous population too Shocked )

Considering he is trying to win voters, He never quoted one possitive iota of policy... everything was fear mongering and negativity.

Let's hope the population are more intelligent than this evil scumbag and ensure that they never obtain power. Twisted Evil

I recently visited a Sgt's Mess and found things to be very different. I didn't need to raise the subject, they were all too keen to tell me how things stink. (Maybe they felt more confident on home turf after a few beers)

Also at a recent food festival I was passing a local rgmnt's recruiting stand. Just as a couple of teenagers were asking about joining up I interjected and asked about the state of medical facilities for the injured coming back from Iraq & Afghanistan. Needless to say, the teenagers moved on, much to the annoyance of the Corporal on the stand.

PostPosted: Sun Apr 22, 2007 1:39 pm    Post subject: Air Cadets & Sainsburys Reply with quote

Sort of on the topic of military recruitment, I went to my local Sainsburys yesterday where a young person dressed in military uniform tried to hand me a basket at the entrance whilst shaking a money rattling tin at me. I declined and picked up my own basket.

Then at the tills, there were more of these blue clad military teenagers helping people to pack their bags. Bemused, I had a short chat with a man who was also handing out baskets and leaflets at the entrance / exit. Turns out they were air cadets raising money for such things as their Duke of Edinburgh expedition. He mentioned that they receive money from the RAF, but that they were doing this as a fundraiser.

So, apart from the fact that one less RAF Tornado could probably pay to send every kid in the country on DOE expeditions, why the hell were they 'helping' people in Sainsburys instead of just collecting in the street / shopping centre. I suppose as a way of collecting more money...

Anyhow, I know it's not quite 'Blair Youth', but there's something unsettling about it. It's not so much the air cadets themselves, as the collaboration between them and Sainsburys. Weird. Just thought I'd mention it.

Reid is communist. Welcome to the GB Gulag. Same old same old people running the shows as per.

Are we gonna stop arguing before technology enslaves us all?

Thought not.

Pity because with the internet we have the technology to fight back and sieze control of our own destiny. If only we could find the clear-headedness to see the problem for what it is, and the courage to stand up against it. And stop listening to those siren songs...

'More funding for the national health....'

'Carbon tax...'

'No child left behind...'

There will be no child left behind when it comes to paying the PFI debts

Bang on cue Doc, with 3 months and 3 weeks of the year completed, on the 3rd month and 22nd day.

The erstwhile Stalinist, Johnny come lately fascist, Gruppenfuhrer Reid last cried wolf on GMTV on 10.12.2006, warning us all that a Christmas terror attack was "highly likely".

Today's regurgitated propaganda follows his last, by exactly 1 day and 19 weeks.

Or, if you prefer, today is also, 9 months, 1 year and 1 day since 21.7.2005

More exquisitely, today also marks 9 months and 11 days since the Mumbai Train Bombs of 11.7.2006

Timing, it seems again, matters.

I don't know if everyone on here has read this in the Times today:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk//article1687360.ece
http://digg.com/world_news/Al_Qaeda_planning_big_British_attack

From The Sunday TimesApril 22, 2007
Dipesh Gadher

AL-QAEDA leaders in Iraq are planning the first “large-scale” terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that Al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq.

There is no evidence of a formal relationship between Al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, and the Shi’ite regime of President Mah-moud Ahmadinejad, but experts suggest that Iran’s leaders may be turning a blind eye to the terrorist organisation’s activities.

The intelligence report also makes it clear that senior Al-Qaeda figures in the region have been in recent contact with operatives in Britain.

It follows revelations last year that up to 150 Britons had travelled to Iraq to fight as part of Al-Qaeda’s “foreign legion”. A number are thought to have returned to the UK, after receiving terrorist training, to form sleeper cells.

The report was compiled by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) - based at MI5’s London headquarters - and provides a quarterly review of the international terror threat to Britain. It draws a distinction between Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda’s core leadership, who are thought to be hiding on the Afghan-Pakistan border, and affiliated organisations elsewhere.

The document states: “While networks linked to AQ [Al-Qaeda] Core pose the greatest threat to the UK, the intelligence during this quarter has highlighted the potential threat from other areas, particularly AQI [Al-Qaeda in Iraq].”

The report continues: “Recent reporting has described AQI’s Kurdish network in Iran planning what we believe may be a large-scale attack against a western target.

“A member of this network is reportedly involved in an operation which he believes requires AQ Core authorisation. He claims the operation will be on ‘a par with Hiroshima and Naga-saki’ and will ‘shake the Roman throne’. We assess that this operation is most likely to be a large-scale, mass casualty attack against the West.”

The report says there is “no indication” this attack would specifically target Britain, “although we are aware that AQI . . . networks are active in the UK”.

Analysts believe the reference to Hiroshima and Naga-saki, where more than 200,000 people died in nuclear attacks on Japan at the end of the second world war, is unlikely to be a literal boast.

“It could be just a reference to a huge explosion,” said a counter-terrorist source. “They [Al-Qaeda] have got to do something soon that is radical otherwise they start losing credibility.”

Despite aspiring to a nuclear capability, Al-Qaeda is not thought to have acquired weapons grade material. However, several plots involving “dirty bombs” - conventional explosive devices surrounded by radioactive material - have been foiled.

Last year Al-Qaeda’s leader in Iraq called on nuclear scientists to apply their knowledge of biological and radiological weapons to “the field of jihad”.

Details of a separate plot to attack Britain, “ideally” before Blair steps down this summer, were contained in a letter written by Abdul al-Hadi al-Iraqi, an Iraqi Kurd and senior Al-Qaeda commander.

According to the JTAC document, Hadi “stressed the need to take care to ensure that the attack was successful and on a large scale”. The plan was to be relayed to an Iran-based Al-Qaeda facilitator.

The Home Office declined to comment.

“They [Al-Qaeda] have got to do something soon that is radical otherwise they start losing credibility.”

Should read.........

'They (the U.S. Government) have got to do something soon that is radical otherwise the war on terror will lose even more credibility (and with that any chance of launching a war on Iran)'

They will have to act fairly quickly before the puppet Bush leaves office.

It is being controlled by the same people who set up the Soviet Union, fiat money, who overthrew the USA in 1913 etc.. They are the inheritors of the hierarchical system prevalent in ancient Egypt etc (notable because of the metaphors in stone)
