The reason I read "Without Predence" is that, just like the report itself, this book should be regarded as evidence on how the investigation was conducted.

My postgraduate course on social research taught me that no published paper should ever be trusted and it is the first thing that must be scrutinised to understanding the validity and reliability of the investigation and its conclusions. After all, how a paper is written will give you great insight into how an investigation was carried out. Hence this book should be treated as evidence.
