There is no United Kingdom, there is no democracy, there is only BP, Centrica, Lloyds, Hanson, News International, HSBC, Capita, BAe Systems, ICI and GlaxoSmithKline...... _________________ www.lawyerscommitteefor9-11inquiry.org

When democracy gets bypassed in this way isn't that what is called a "coup d'etat"?
Blair said before the last election he would serve a full term. People voted on that basis. Blair broke the contract with the people. Therefore there should be an immediate General Election.
Unfortunately should, will not make it happen especially with such a supportive opposition.
The role of Parliament anyone? To perpetuate Parliament. |

Thatcher said she "would go on and on" and was not expected to resign when she did. Did you wish for a general election then? Did the Tory party call one? Lying is a well entrenched custom in Parliament and the electorate should be aware that what any politician says may well be untrue and any promise is eminently breakable. It particularly applies to Tories whether in the Conservative party or in "New" Labour. They have form. |

Yes I did want a general election when Thatcher left, and keeping in mind the destruction of my part of the world caused by the Tories I wanted her away a damn site sooner than when she left.
To say "lying is a well entrenched custom" you are giving MP's carte blanche to do as they wish. The Parliamentary Standards enforcement is ineffective to say the least and I want MP's to have a contract and terms of conditions of office. Try asking the public enquiries office at the House of Commons and you will be told these do not exist as MP's are holders of public office, not employees of the people.
The wrongdoing of New Labour, or perhaps that should be Hijacked Labour, over the last five years has far outstripped anything the even sleaziest Tories came up with in the 90's.
At present Political Parties don't stand for anything. Their policies shift around focus group results in order to get elected, not to follow any ideology.
The group of people who have gained under New Labour are the super rich. How Tory is that? |

Your point about the hijacking of the Labour party is absolutely correct in my view, and I am also in a part of the world ravaged by "Thatcherism". There will be dancing in the streets around here when she dies and I will be leading the marching band. My point about members of parliament being liars isn't made because I endorse it but because it seems a waste of time to complain about any injustice concerning the parliamentary process of how a leader comes to power, when the entire so-called Democracy in the UK has been killed off. Only when people are dragged away screaming from watching tv soap operas, probably by secret police, will things start to improve. |

United Healthcare and the Carlyle group must be rubbing their hands with glee.
Stand by for all doctors surgeries to be taken over by United Healthcare. And more of our defence infrastructure to be bought up by Carlyle group.
Gordon is the worst chancellor ever. Britain is in recession and soon the housing bubble caused by browns policies will burst and bankrupcy will follow for millions.
"Gordon is a moron" should be his theme tune. _________________

Yes - following Tory economic policies is disastrous and it is disgraceful the Labour party allow Tories to hold senior positions within its ranks. |
