Don't those gentlemen killers of the CIA have any sense of loyalty or conscience? I mean how could they retire the man (and so elegantly!) who delivered the White House to Langley in 1980 and 2000?

Anyone else notice how all this talk of prayer meetings at the White House has kind of tailed off? Seems like George was only a partial born again President (evangelical Christians and Bonesmen have never been really good mixers anyway).

Looks like the spooks aren't leaving anything to chance for 2008. At the moment it looks like that it's the Great Rudolfo that they're wrapping up in cotton wool. No doubt the religious right are infuriated by the fact he doesn't recite Deuteronomy between blow jobs.

And that's a much bigger sin than 9/11

Far be it for me to intrude on private grief with formal announcements but the Rev. Jerry Fallwell was interred yesterday. It seems that the spectacle must have been deemed too distressing for the field of Republican presidential hopefuls as not a single one put in an appearance at the ceremony.

What are we to read into Fallwell's death? Accident or design and, if it was the latter, was it just something personal between him and Langley Va or was his 'retirement' a warning to the religious right generally?

Unlike the hapless Star Trek extras who are inevitably vaporised after being ordered to join Kirk and Spock on the 'planetary surface' it appears the Evangelicals are able to make their own decisions on whether to beam down onto the campaign trail to 'explore' the issues of abortion and stem cell research.
