It is my opinion that the Palestine Israel situation is at the root of the conflict in the Middle East. If a solution could be found for it then other Middle Eastern conflicts could be resolved.

One suggestion is that the original Palestinian refugees from the area which is now recognised as Israel should be paid the value of their property at current market rates. I imagine that real estate in Israel is probably worth a good price.

If a proportion of the money which is currently spent on arming the Israeli military, was paid in reparations to the former owners of the land, then there would be the opportunty to resolve the issue of land ownership.

This would also bring a very welcome influx of money into the Palestinian economy

Is Alan Johnston still alive? He's been missing for been two months now, since March 13. One group has already reported that he is dead, and a group has posted a video to Al Jasera showing his BBC Staff pass.

He was the only BBC journalist living in the Gaza Strip and regularly sending reports. If he has been killed, who benefits? Certainly not the Palestinians.

Hamas held a ceasefire for several months, but the Israelis did not adhere to it and continued to kill Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. So Hamas ended their ceasefire.

Now the Israelis are arresting and imprisoning as many members of the cabinet of the Palestinian government as they can catch.

This seems to be a formula for perpetual war.

There is room for optimism in the victory of Hamas in the battle for Gaza. Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh acknowledged crowds in Gaza yesterday. He announced that BBC reporter Alan Johnston is likely to be released shortly and there would be no further action against foreigners.

Three state solution? Gaza ruled by Hamas, and the West Bank ruled by Fatah? As there is no connecting link between the two, the 'two state solution' was never viable anyway. There is not doubt that Hamas have the ability to maintain discipline, and the majority of their support is in Gaza.

West Bank controlled by Fatah? the corruption in Fatah is the reason that Hamas won the election. Fatah has not won an election since the death of Yasser Arafat. Mossad and the US intelligence services [supplying arms] have been machinating against Hamas since they were elected.

I think that Hamas will want to receive recognition as a legitimate government. Ok so It is a bit like a Palestinian reservation, but anything would be better than continuous bombing and rocket raids.

The new front rank of the Israeli government Ehud Olmert [Prime Minister] Ehud Barak [Defence Minister], Tzipi Livni [Foreign Minister, a woman] together with newly elected President of Israel Shimon Perez, is a lot less hawkish than recent previous administrations.

Israel got a bloody nose from Hisbollah in the Lebanon and are now committed to talking to Syria, lets hope they can swallow their pride and talk to Hamas and Fatah as well.

You seem to pre-suppose that the powers that be in these areas want to sort the problem. They don't... they want it to get worse.
Until we expose and then remove the world's scum veneer of establishment figures we can't fix anything. Once they are gone most world problems will disappear, as they are falsely created in the first place. Common sense does work.

My thought is that there must be people who live in Israel, Israeli citizens, who do not want perpetual war and who would prefer to live in peace with their neighbours. Perpetual war does not achieve anything except disorder and chaos.

If Palestine Israel could be settled, and quieten down as Northern Ireland has quietened down, then the situation in the rest of the Middle East would eventually follow.

There is the PEACE NOW movement in Israel as well as the wider JEWS AGAINST ZIONISM organisation.

Just like in South Africa there were whites who campaigned so it is also the case in Israel. BUt you obviously have not seen what Zionists think of these peace campaigners.

Thankyou for posting these videos, These traditional Jewish practitioners are being persecuted in Israel to a much greater extend than I realised.
There has been footage of them stating their case clearly and eloquently which was taken down or clipped almost as soon as it went up up.
