On Boxing day this year I propose we all meet at the bottom of the M1 and drive north.

We pass every speed camera as fast as possible.

We will then all receive letters from the state.

We ignore them.

We ignore the summons.

They cannot put us all in prisons.

Anyone with me?

I can't see how courting speeding convictions can spread the truth about 9/11 or anything else.

I understand your frustration. I am surprised that no-one has been able to frame a legal challenge to government or the media. In fact, the idea seems so hopeless no-one has even bothered to respond to the suggestion.

We should have a contingency plan should we lose the internet. What, I do not know. Maybe a pre-arranged rendezvous?

Everyone driving as fast as possible at the same time sounds jolly dangerous to me.

I'm assuming it would work on the M1 - if it were the M60, "as fast as possible" would frequently be about 25mph.

I have heard that in some areas some cameras have started to 'malfunction'.

Perhaps there is a (sort of) compromise.

Instead of driving as fast as possible on one of the quietest days of the year, as far as traffic is concerned, why not drive the same route as slow as possible - en masse on one of the busiest days. Block the arteries. Shut the system down.

Then perhaps we could barricade the news presses. And next time there is a national protest about anything (such as the Iraq war) don't bother wasting time and money descending on Trafalgar Square or Hyde Park - take it to the local police station. I think they might have seen which side their bread was buttered if 2,000,000 people had surrounded their local law enforcers.

I don't think Boxing Day for a slow, road-blocking drive would be the best day, because what the PTB are really worried about is having commerce (profit-making) disrupted, and there are no commecial vehicles on the road on Boxing Day. But it is the germ of an idea for a nationwide protest about the things the public feel angry about.

We would have to make it very clear, well in advance, what the protest was about and people could cause traffic chaos in their own locality, wherever that was. But care would have to be taken to ensure emergency services could get through. People dying in ambulances which couldn't get them to hospital in time, or people dying in buildings which burnt down because the fire service could not get through would be bad publicity.

I also think that there is a growing Truth Movement in which people concerned about different issues: ID cards, oppressive legislation, war, depleted uranium, waste of our taxes on these things, 9/11, 7/7 etc are beginning to tolerate each other despite their differences, and that one day, there will be sufficient cohesion to stage a national protest about it all.

If I were thinking of doing something more than talking and that something is against the law I would definately not hatch my cunning plan on a public forum

Rodin, I understand your frustration. I think we should be able to frame a legal challenge to the UK government and the media, but it would need to be well thought out and professional. I would love to see this happen but I don't have the capacity. BUt that is not to say you or someone else (with the help of others) couldn't do so. If you would want such a challenge to go out in the name of the campaign, this can be arranged assuming the committee OKs it
