9/11 Inquiry Must Be Re-Opened

Conclusions from the British 'all-party' parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee which investigated last year's July 7 'suicide bomb' attacks on London, revealed alarming security service blunders. The report by MPs brought to the fore yet again the fact that the American 9-11 Commission had ‘failed’ in its mandate to provide an independent, impartial, “full and complete accounting” of the attacks in the US of September 11, 2001.

I believe the Commission is wrong in crucial respects and the available evidence indicates that US officials authored or facilitated the attacks and their cover-up. The non-aligned 9/11 Truth Campaign, to which I am proud to belong, is demanding full disclosure and accountability through a further independent investigation. We demand answers to some key questions.

In a 2004 opinion poll conducted by Zogby International among New York City residents, 66 per cent called for another full investigation of the "still unanswered questions"

There are hundreds of pieces of compelling and verifiable evidence and testimony (Link to evidence and testimony page) that directly challenge the 9/11 Commission’s report. This evidence is either omitted from or contradicted by the report. Awkward questions presented to the commission by the Family Steering Committee remain unanswered. One of the most respected presentations of the case against the Commission is by David Ray Griffin: ‘9/11 Commission Report: distortions and omissions’.

The campaign recognizes that there is a diverse range of opinion amongst 9/11 truth campaigners. The campaign does not endorse any one position. What we do say is when taken in totality the evidence overwhelmingly supports the need to reopen 9/11.

9/11 has given us the ‘War on Terror’, dodgy dossiers, two illegal and immoral wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Downing Street memo, the Hutton and Butler shams, the decimation of civil liberties, Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib, 100,000 civilian deaths, $180bn war spending in Iraq alone, the rebirth of Star Wars, battlefields poisoned with depleted uranium (half life 4.5 billion years) and full spectrum dominance.

The sheer scale and audacity of the 9/11 cover-up suggests we are already living in a world of state managed propaganda where powerful elites and institutions collude to keep unpalatable truths from the people. In this unipolar world, the last check and balance is the power of global public opinion. Blair, on the eve of war in Afghanistan, said “This is a moment to seize. The kaleidoscope has been shaken. The pieces are in flux. Soon they will settle again. Before they do, let us re-order this world around us” This is indeed a moment to seize but not as Blair foresaw it. We have an opportunity to transform the world and exposing the 9/11 cover-up is a key.
