Man freed after terror quiz

A MAN arrested by anti-terror police was released without charge today after two days of questioning.

Two other men also arrested on terror-related charges during the operation in Longsight, Manchester, on Wednesday remain in police custody.

A judge has granted police a further seven days to detain them.

Officers from the Greater Manchester Police's Counter Terrorism Unit arrested the trio following a tip-off about a "potential threat" from "alleged terror activity".

A fourth man was also arrested for immigration offences during the same operation and is now being dealt with by the Immigration Service.

Police raided two properties, one in Stockport Road and one in Hamilton Road, at around 1.25pm.

None of the arrests was linked to the recent botched bomb attempts in Glasgow and London, police said.
