Until I've used every internet forum in the world, I will have to ask for a 'don't know' option to be added. |

Try it on Firefox, it seems to be faster. |

Dramatic licence.
Since I made the post it also seems to be working a lot faster for me, so it may also be forum voodoo. _________________ It's a man's life in MOSSAD |

seems to be affected by time of day sindrome. Must be hard giving a 24 hour service _________________ 'Come and see the violence inherent in the system.

Here's a workaround that disallows the stealing of our precious time by a tardy network.
Using Firefox with tabbed browsing you can open a few threads in 'a new tab', and by the time you've triggered half a dozen to open, the first page is waiting for your perusal. Remember that the machine must always be your slave, and not vice versa.

Yup - a classic tactic noted there by Al that I've been using here and on slower sites for ages.
Highly recommended... - You can actually get quite fast at it. All that right clickin action must build tiny muscles _________________ http://exopolitics.org.uk

I doubt that anyone can do anything about it this end...

It's often so slow that my posts don't go though because by then it has logged me out!
The best time seems to be the early hours of the morning before 6AM. |

The other day I got this error message.
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User nineeleven has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in /hermes/web06/b1809/pow.ianneal911zq1/htdocs/board/db/mysql4.php on line 48
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
Could it be that someone is deliberately trying to overload this forum? |

If someone was was running a continuous denial of service attack (by sending millions of page demands) then the ISP would detect it. |

I don't know why this forum has gone so slow? This time last year there were a lot more people loging on this site and I don't remember any problems then? |
