Spot on, Anthony. And a nice comparative analysis.

The media slant on Iran is all too obvious. If it had been Britain being threatened with sanctions and/or military action for enriching uranium, the entire nation would be up in arms shouting, "But the law says that we can!"

But do the media make that clear? Do they buggery. The BBC, in particular, like to use variations on the phrase "...which Iran says they have an unalienable right to do", thereby insinuating that, although Iran say they do, they don't really, while still (barely) keeping the statement truthful.

I actually had to access the BBC Q&A section on their website to get an unequivocal admission that Iran are breaking no laws. Any self-respecting, unbiased, and objective reporter would have made that clear within the body of the main article.

The MSM even go so far as to posit the scenario that a US attack on Iran could actually be justified on the basis of self-defence, deeming that Iran poses a significant threat to the West because:

a) they kept their uranium enrichment programme (which they are entitled by UN law to have) secret for years, and so cannot be trusted;

b) they have consistently ignored Security Council calls to stop enriching their uranium (which they are entitled by UN law to do), and;

c) they said they want the nation of Israel wiped off the map (which they didn't, and don't)

If the MSM actually told the truth, the public would understand that not only has Iran done nothing wrong, but that it doesn't intend to do anything wrong either, as the whole concept of nuclear weaponry goes against the basic tenets of Islamic law.

But of course that's not going to stop the US, hell bent as they are on invading. Recent attempts to bring Iran to the table for talks are meaningless. It's pure PR, trying to make themselves out to be the good guys. Then, when the next event occurs (probably later on in the month), self-righteous justification for an invasion will take over.

We've now, in recent weeks, been deliberately, and mentally, prepared for a major attack. Terrorist arrests, in general, are on the increase, and two high-profile cases involving the detaining of two brothers in England and a 17-man 'cell' in Canada have been manufactured to create a climate of fear and imminent threat (little mention, of course, is made of the fact that there is no evidence that either of these cases are in any way genuine).

Add those to the 'death' yesterday of al-Q'aida's head honcho (a man who has 'died' many times before), and you have a situation ripe for exploitation. And you have to admit, it's an ingenious plan. Just secretly kill a high-profile enemy, keep it schtum for a bit, and then when you want to create another manufactured event, release news of his death, warn of reprisals from the deceased's supporters, carry out the event, blame it on the people you just warned everyone about, and then invade those people in retaliation. Genius.

Two final nexus points: the Bilderburgers are meeting right now (and over the weeked), and next week sees the largest ever 'continuity of government' exercises being carried out in the US. As we all know, 'exercises' such as these take place EVERY TIME a major terrorist event occurs.

And of course, the World Cup is on...

Would it be unreasonable, at this time, to form the equation: A Demonised Iran + Increased Terror Arrests + High-Profile Death + Hint At Reprisals + Bilderburger Meeting + Huge Government Exercises + World Cup = False Flag Event?

Or am I just being paranoid?

No, Foliagecop old chap, you are not being paranoid. If we get out of July without a major terrorist outrage happening somewhere in the world (with of course an evidence trail leading to Tehran) I shall be absolutely amazed. With all this activity on sites like ours flagging up our expectations of an imminent attack, we may well be buggering up the timetable of the PTB - but more than one colleague has now said to me that their timetable or window of opportunity is now becoming so tight, especially as more and more people wake up to the truth about 9/11, that they will go ahead regardless of our efforts to expose them.

If the worst does happen and our civil liberties are curbed even further, we must get ready to become the catalysts and the inspiration in this country for a new, totally non-violent 'Peasants Revolt' with the Mahatma Gandhi as our inspiration. Long live the spirit of 1381 - but without the bloodshed! A fascist world government is slowly but surely being assembled around the world whilst the sheep graze quietly in the fields.

I like your analogy with shakespeare Anthony, my day, an old actor, always finds it funny how people missquote the bard, and then how these misquotes go on to become the cliche...in fact I'm pretty sure he's told me about this specifc quote before! (I was force-fed Hamlet when I was Cool

Your point about only being able to trust the msm on the most basic of facts is valid - Katrina was a good example of how facts tend not to bother the msm - I think South Park summed this up nicely: "we're reporting that there is murdering and even canibalism"...'wow, so you've seen people eating each other?'..."No Tom, we're just reporting it" Wink

Foliage,

I'd add to your list of recent terror 'threats' the following:

-After the Zogby poll, the release of the latest Bin Laden tape specifically re-linking himself to the planning of 9-11

-7/7 report (lots of mentions of 7/7 and 9-11 on UK news, Rachel N etc..)

-False alarm 'terror threat' in Washington (Hours of FOX airtime discussing the 'war on terror' and 'the ever present threat')

-Small plane enters restricted Washington airspace and is escorted away by fighter jets (Lots of menacing US TV news coverage until it was out of the way - In the UK too but it was in the middle of the night here)

---Now, that's a one heap of 'terror talk' on western TVs and in our papers. When we look at the other events there is (I think) some genuine reason for concern:

-Bush's % approval slips into the 20's, his lowest ever

-Haditha, 1000's of deserters, growing casualties putting the most pressure on Rumsfeld yet

-Isreal getting excited about Iran and talk of terror at the world-cup

-Iran again threatening to switch to Euros for oil trade etc..

-Significant stirings in Syria, possible coup attempt coming

-US aircraft carriers on their way to the Arabian Sea

-US mid-term elections in Nov, theatens to lose Republican majority in Senate

---Like other's here, this is the first time I'm really getting the feeling that things are building towards something. I've got the feeling that they're going to try and drop al-q in favour of 'al-q inspired' (the latest buzzword) groups - this way they can claim that although they have been quite successful against al-q they face wider threats so must clamp down and spy harder. Perhaps it's Hizbollah's time to get the al-q treatment...

The thing that's baffling me slightly is how they would pin it on Iran - They got to hit Afganistan because of "harboring", how to link terrorism to Iran is less clear I think.

Sorry, I'm a bit tired, but do you mean, Anthony, that Ahmadinejad meant the world map would be re-drawn at some stage, with Isreal wiped off it (ie the map - not have nuclear bombs dropped on it) as I suggested he meant on another thread?

As you say there is such total hyprocracy going on all the time that the West can say they are "bringing peace" to Iraq when they are slaughtering, bombing and torturing so many innocent people and most people just go along with it.

One of my favourite Shakespeare quotes also comes from "Hamlet" and I should really have it as a recorded message always with me to play about a million times a day to all the people who tell me that this that and the other is just "not possible" or is the "only possibility" (for example it is not possible that 9/11 was an inside job, that it is "not possible" that there will ever be peace in the world because of "human nature" That the world will end in a big nuclear war and there is "nothing we can do" whilst getting angry about women like Helen John and Lindis Percy who protest against nuclear weapons..... that there is "no other reality" then this one (because they have not experienced any and assume anyone like me who has to be insane)....I could go on!

The tape recording would broadcast the words:

Quote:
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

--From Hamlet (I, v, 166-167)
*There could be a pause where the name "Horatio" comes up to insert "George"; "Tony" "Donald" etc or even "Tacey", whoever - I seem to meet them all! They all "know" everything" and they have got me trapped here in their limited little "worst of all possible worlds" with them! Not for much longer, I hope!
