Was it Illegal to Kill Gaddafi?
Posted: 20/10/11 17:51 GMT
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/joe-dyke/gaddafi-death-illegal-nato_b_ 1022132.html
Colonel Gaddafi has been killed in Libya after 42 years of a brutal dictatorship. The Libyan people will be celebrating tonight but if, as appears likely, he was killed after suffering wounds from a Nato aircraft it raises questions about the legality of the bombing campaign in Libya.
When the war began way back in March much of the debate was whether the UN Resolution 1973, which authorised in paragraphs four and eight, "all necessary measures" to protect civilians in Libya, covered attacks on Gaddafi and senior figures in the regime. In late March the now-former British defence minister Liam Fox claimed that Gaddafi was a "legitimate target" for assassination within the remit of 1973.
Within days Nato stressed that was not their position and David Cameron was quick to say he disagreed with Fox. The Chief of the Defence Staff General Sir David Richards went even further: "Absolutely not. It is not allowed under the UN resolution and it is not something I want to discuss any further."
Yet as the war has continued it has become increasingly clear that Nato has accepted Fox's interpretation of 1973, despite publicly claiming the opposite. First there were attacks on his command and control centres in Tripoli that aimed, according to Fox, to increase "psychological pressure" of the Gaddafi family. Then there were attacks on his family home, which allegedly killed his youngest son Saif al-Arab Gaddafi and children. Since the fall of Tripoli the realistic threat to civilians has fallen significantly and while the pursuit of Gaddafi by the Libyans is legitimate, the continued use of Nato air force hints at regime change.
If Nato stepped over the line between protecting civilians and assassination attempts it is unclear exactly when this happened. International law lags behind real politik, particularly in the regulation of unmanned surveillance drones, which have been used in Libya. International law regulating assassination often ends up falling back on the Hague Convention of 1899 which confirms that it is illegal "to kill or wound treacherously individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army."
But, as Kristen Eichensehr has argued, "in recent years, and especially since September 11... the United States [and others] have reframed [assassinations]as "targeted killings," defining the victims as "enemy combatants" who are therefore legitimate targets wherever they are found."
Over the course of the war Nato has gradually redefined its goals, to the extent that David Cameron is hailing the murder of a man as a victory for democracy. The lines between liberal interventionism and regime change have blurred so fast it is difficult to know whether they have strayed beyond the lines of Resolution 1973.
Policy-makers will rejoice that Gaddafi is dead as it vindicates the theory of quick and easy liberal wars. Yet if he has been killed by bombs flown by Nato airplanes it finally removes the illusion that this is a Libyan revolution. Even if he wasn't it is fairly clear that Nato reconnaissance led the Libyan rebels to him. The purpose of going to war was to protect the population of Libya. Was the killing of a deposed leader legitimate within that framework? When David Richards said "absolutely not", perhaps what he really meant was "quite possibly".

John Pilger on Libya: the beginning of America's invasion of Africa:

The Son Of Africa Claims A Continent’s Crown Jewels

By John Pilger

20 October, 2011
Johnpilger.com

'On 14 October, President Barack Obama announced he was sending United States special forces troops to Uganda to join the civil war there. In the next few months, US combat troops will be sent to South Sudan, Congo and Central African Republic. They will only “engage” for “self-defence”, says Obama, satirically. With Libya secured, an American invasion of the African continent is under way...........'

David Cameron's statement on illegal 'regime change' war crime when Colonel Gadaffi was flushed out by French NATO airstrikes today
David Cameron has said it is a day to remember Col Muammar Gaddafi's victims after Libya confirmed the country's former leader had been killed
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15387273

Gadaffi and Libya not responsible for Lockerbie bombing in 1988
The Maltese Double Cross (1994) Pan Am 103 Bombing Cover-up by the CIA - director Allan Frankovich
2:35:49 - Investigation into the downing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. Produced back in 1994, this film raises serious questions about what really happened.

Gadaffi and Libya not responsible for killing of PC Yvonne Fletcher in 1984
This April 1996 Dispatches documentary by Fulcrum TV and Richard Bellfield refutes the official story that PC Yvonne fletcher was murdered by shots from the Libyan embassy. This is especially pertinent considering the media have dragged her death back in to the limelight to demonise Libya.
It presents strong evidence that she was killed by a gunman in an adjacent building used by the British security services. The film probes deeper, and finds evidence indicating that the murder was carried out by an anti-Gaddafi terrorist organisation backed by the CIA in a false flag operation.
By killing a British police officer and blaming Gaddafi's Libya, the plan, it seems, was to start a coup in order to remove Gaddafi and install a puppet regime to seize Libya's oil.

The trouble is present day mainstream broadcasters such as the BBC would never commission these investigative documentaries today - for example into the 7/7 attacks.....

Ludicrous Diversion - 7/7 London Bombings Documentary
27:53 - 5 years ago
On the 7th of July 2005 London was hit by a series of explosions. You probably think you know what happened that day. But you don’t. The police have, from the onset of their investigation, chosen to withold from the public almost every bit of evidence they claim to have and have provably lied about several aspects of the London Bombings
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4943675105275097719
One now has to go to the internet and seek these kinds of documentaries out

What is the point of Law Abiding?

Guts but no glory: Gaddafi images over-the-top

http://rt.com/news/gaddafi-execution-images-broadcast-375/

Quote:
Libya is turning a new page in its history following the killing of ousted dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. But the footage of Gaddafi's dead and broken body was so graphic; some are wondering why it was broadcast for the public to see.
On Friday, the United Nations human rights office has urged for inquiry into Gaddafi’s death
“It is unclear how he died. There is a need for an investigation," Reuters quotes UN human rights spokesman Rupert Colville as saying at a news briefing in Geneva.
Referring to separate cell phone images showing a wounded Gaddafi first alive and then later dead amidst a jumble of anti-Gaddafi fighters after his capture in his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, he added: "Taken together, they were very disturbing."
But for now, the death of Gaddafi is being applauded around the world.
But the frenzied mob cheering the colonel’s death is about as far as it gets from a trial at The Hague. Even by those who champion democratic justice.
The death of the toppled Libyan dictator was hailed by the British prime minister. Earlier in September, David Cameron pledged that Britain would help hunt down the Libyan leader
“People in Britain salute your courage and while we are proud of the role we played to help, we know this was your revolution from your bravery. You showed the world you would get of a dictator and you would choose freedom,” he said.
The declaration comes as a far cry from Cameron’s insistence back in March that Gaddafi be put on trial at the International Criminal Court.
NTC fighters were even dissuaded from their shoot-to-kill policy – agreeing in August they would take him alive.
“I don’t think he would have got a particularly fair trial in any case,” argues Chris Nineham from the Stop the War Coalition. “But nevertheless what has basically been a summary execution has been a very barbaric end to what, I believe, has been a very barbaric operation from the start As I say, this NATO operation was never supposed to be about regime change, but that’s really what was has been the outcome of it.”
The back-slapping has been fuelled by the gruesome footage of Gaddafi’s body splashed across headlines on Thursday. The video showed Gaddafi was still alive when he was captured, but clearly that did not last long.
Some suggest this was an execution and question why this is being applauded.
“Gaddafi was assassinated after he was caught wounded. This is a very heinous crime against a wounded man and the Arab public will see it as such,” political analyst professor Ibrahim Alloush is convinced. “I’ve talked to people who disliked Gaddafi and who disliked the way he was killed. They think this tells you something about the morality of the so-called revolutionaries.”
This is a view shared by many on Twitter. There are several posts already concerned about the coverage, questioning the necessity of such graphic images. And why Gaddifi’s death – dictator or not – has been reported with so much jubilation.
One tweet, by @matthewburgess1, has labeled the images horrific and suggests any other figure would not have such graphic images displayed.
Another suggests media outlets are having a competition.
Sally Bercow, a prominent activist in the UK says she sees why the same was not done for Osama Bin Laden.
Back then, President Obama refused to release the images of Bin Laden’s mangled body, saying it could incite more violence or be used as propaganda.
But for the Gaddafi, the vultures were too quick.

Muammar Gaddafi's 'trophy' body on show in Misrata meat store
Libyans queue to see dictator's body as wounds appear to confirm he was killed in cold blood

No mercy in death: Gaddafi’s remains on show
http://rt.com/news/gaddafi-body-diplay-burial-493/
Published: 22 October, 2011, 15:17 - AFP Photo / Mahmud Turkia
The world seems to show no mercy to the late Libyan ex-leader. While the horrific photos of his death have captivated mass media, his fellow countrymen are lining up for a family photo with his bloodstained body.
Families with children line up to have a look at a body of the late Colonel Gaddafi, showcased since Friday in one of the commercial freezers at a shopping center in Misrata.
Hundreds of people wait outside the freezer for their turn to pose for photos with the dead colonel stored as a trophy.
Guards tried to control the crowd, allowing only by small groups into the room. But the flow was so intense that visiting hours had to be set – separate for women and children, and men.
Earlier, a senior member of the NTC promised that Gaddafi would be buried with respect according to Islamic tradition, but will not have a public funeral.
The fighters in Misrata said the body would be buried within 24 hours after the death, as Islamic tradition calls for quick interment. But then the interim government delayed the burial due to the need to determine the circumstances of his death.
On Friday, the United Nations human rights office urged that an inquiry into Gaddafi’s death be opened due to disturbing circumstances of his killing.
But now Agence France Presse reports military commanders in the Libyan city of Misrata said on Saturday that no post mortem would be carried out on the body.
"There will be no post mortem today, nor any day," the Agency quotes Misrata military council spokesman Fathi al-Bashaagha as saying. "No one is going to open up his body."
NTC chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil, however, confirmed that Gaddafi's death was being investigated without any reference to a post mortem examination.
On Friday, Libya's information minister said no decision has been taken on when or where the body will be buried.
The tribe of the late Libyan ex-leader called on the UN, Organization of the Islamic Conference and Amnesty International for a chance to bury Colonel Gaddafi and his son.
"We call on the UN, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and Amnesty International to force the [National] Transitional Council to hand over the martyrs' bodies to our tribe in Sirte and to allow them to perform their burial ceremony in accordance with Islamic customs and rules," British newspaper The Guardian quotes the statement as saying.
What to do with the fallen dictator's corpse is the subject of a row inside the National Transitional Council, reports the newspaper. Libya's interim Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril arrived in Misrata to talk with local NTC representatives. They have made it abundantly clear they do not want Gaddafi to be buried in their town. The NTC leadership in Tripoli wants a speedy resolution. One popular option is to bury him at sea, as was done with Osama Bin Laden.

trouble with link but hmm
http://www.english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/13-04-2011/117563-mess age_from_qaddafi-0/

Quote:
In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful...

For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union.

I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us.

Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer.

So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters.

I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it.

Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light.

When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself...

In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free.

-- Mu'ummar Qaddafi.

also on the day I saw Channel 5 quote from a paper, some of Gaddafi's last words contained 'What have I done to you?'

Informative article and video clip from 'The Canadian' paper:

'Why NATO murdered Qaddafi':

And should we expect MSM coverage? Well, not really, any more than we can expect 9/11 Truth.
Why?

Well, perhaps Adam Balzorian has a good part of the answer:

After five-days of being on public display inside a meat market fridge, the slain former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been buried. His body was taken to a secret location in the desert to prevent his grave becoming a shrine for sympathisers or being vandalised. Even though Libya was declared liberated, it's no closer to peace and freedom.

That's the view of Sukant Chandan, a spokesman for British Civilians For Peace in Libya.

Pictured: Charles's fawning letter to Gaddafi discovered at one of despot's palaces

Fawning letters from Prince Charles and Tony Blair to Colonel Gaddafi have been discovered at one of the despot’s palaces.
Addressing the dictator as ‘Your Excellency’, the heir to the throne called for greater ties between Libya and the UK.
It is the latest embarrassing link to emerge between the British Establishment and Gaddafi’s regime, following revelations that Prince Andrew was also used as a go-between.
In his letter to toe late Libyan leader, Prince Charles called for greater ties between Libya and the UK

Penned a letter: Prince Charles's 2007 letter to Colonel Gaddafi called for greater ties between the two nations
Prince Charles’s letter is dated June 7, 2007, and was discovered in a palace used by Saif al-Islam, Gaddafi’s London-educated playboy son.
The prince praised the dictator for his work with Christians, Aids victims and the British Council, writing: ‘I just wanted to write to Your Excellency to say how heartened I am by the breadth of these developments.’

Charles’s letter was sent days after Tony Blair had visited Libya in his final weeks as Prime Minister to seek oil and defence deals for British companies.

The prince went on to say he had been briefed on Mr Blair’s trip and ‘the positive way in which relations between Libya and the United Kingdom are developing’.
Another letter to Gaddafi was sent by Mr Blair a month later, stressing the determination of his government to pursue deals with his regime.

Both letters preceded an agreement to provide an air defence system which would have been designed to thwart the type of attacks with which Nato helped to unseat Gaddafi.
Last month, Prince Andrew’s role was revealed in papers discovered at the British ambassador’s residence in Tripoli.

Prince Andrew's role was revealed in papers discovered at the British ambassador's residence in Tripoli
The Duke of York was offered up to meet Gaddafi as the Labour government desperately tried to appease the unpredictable dictator.
Royal sources insisted that Charles’s letter was nothing to do with defence contracts, and was part of an international campaign to free six Bulgarian nurses imprisoned in 1998 after being falsely accused of infecting Libyan children with HIV.
‘The charges were clearly trumped up and governments across the EU were involved in the campaign for their release,’ a royal source told the Daily Mail.
‘This was not something that the prince chose to do off his own back. It was a piece of international diplomacy at the request of the Government.’
A spokesman for Mr Blair said: ‘Gaddafi was received in several European capitals, including Brussels, Rome and Paris.
‘There was, therefore, at that time no reason whatsoever for not continuing to engage with him, especially since Mr Blair in office had been responsible for getting Gaddafi to give up his chemical and nuclear weapons programme and renounce terrorism.’

Gaddafi in his Georgetown University Speech in 2009, threatened to "Nationalize Libyan Oil"

Is Libya Going To Boot U.S. Oil Companies?
Christopher Helman, 01.22.09, 10:09 AM EST
Muammar Gaddafi looks ready to launch a new round of energy-sector nationalism.

HOUSTON -- On Wednesday Libya's President Muammar Gaddafi made a bad week for ConocoPhillips even worse. Talking with Georgetown University students via satellite, he said, according to Reuters, that oil prices ($43/barrel Wednesday) were "unbearable" and that Libyan oil "maybe should be owned by national companies or the public sector at this point, in order to control the oil prices, the oil production or maybe to stop it."

"We may refuse to sell it at this very low price," he added.

ConocoPhillips (nyse: COP - news - people ) operates the Waha concession, Libya's biggest collection of fields, producing some 300,000 barrels of oil per day. It's unknown how much Waha production was affected by Gaddafi's order last month to reduce Libyan oil production by 270,000 bpd to 1.4 million bpd.

Last Friday the company pre-announced write-downs of $34 billion, 1,400 layoffs and a sad sack 30% reserve replacement rate for 2008. No better time to bury bad news than the Friday before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and Barack Obama's inauguration. By the time ConocoPhillips officially releases fourth-quarter results Jan. 28, investors might be less fixated on the mistakes of the past and more worried about the risks of the future in Libya.

Is Libya about to take the lead of its friends in Venezuela and Russia and launch a new round of energy-sector nationalism? The thought sends a shiver through the collective spines of ConocoPhillips, Marathon Oil, Occidental Petroleum (nyse: OXY - news - people ), Amerada Hess (nyse: HES - news - people ) and Royal Dutch Shell (nyse: RDSA - news - people ). All have made massive new investments in Libya since Gaddafi renounced his nuclear weapons program, made reparations for past terrorist activities like the Lockerbie jetliner bombing and returned to the fold of seemingly responsible nations.

Libyan newspapers have been actively discussing nationalization in recent weeks as a response to crude prices plunging 75% from last year's highs. "We are facing a difficult situation. We hope that the prices will go up again, say $100 a barrel, so that this idea would be discarded, to stop this idea of calling for nationalization," Ghaddafi said Wednesday.

Conoco was an original member, with Marathon and Hess, of the so-called Oasis group that discovered some of Libya's most prolific oil fields back in the 1960s and operated there until the enactment of U.S. sanctions in 1986. In 2005 the trio agreed to pay Libya $1.8 billion to get back in to the Waha concession, comprised of a $1.3 billion fee and $500 million for improvements Libya's national oil company had made in their absence. They got a 25-year lease and 40% collective stake in fields that produce on the order of 250,000 barrels a day, with ample opportunities for further development.

For its share, some 48,000 bpd (2% of the company's total daily output), ConocoPhillips forked over more than $700 million. It expects to amortize that investment over decades. But if Gaddafi takes his cues from buddies Vladimir Putin and Hugo Chavez and moves to dilute western oil companies' stakes, ConocoPhillips might soon have to add Libya to its list of write-downs (which included the $7.2 billion impairment in value of its 20% stake in Russia's Lukoil and $25.4 billion of goodwill, most tied to the 2006 acquisition of Burlington Resources).

The three strongmen are proven comrades. Gaddafi has hosted Venezuelan President Chavez in Libya at least four times in recent years and in 2004 bestowed on Chavez his human rights award for "fighting imperialism," (i.e., George W. Bush and ExxonMobil (nyse: XOM - news - people ), among others). Putin, last April, made a state visit to Tripoli accompanied by Gazprom execs and a group from Italian energy company ENI. Putin forgave Gaddafi several billion dollars in Soviet era debt in exchange for Gaddafi agreeing to buy many more billions of weapons from Russia. Gazprom soon swapped ENI's stake in Libya's 100,000 bpd Elephant field for some arctic assets.

In October Russian warships stopped in Tripoli on their way to Venezuela. In November, Gaddafi made his first visit to Moscow since the Soviet era. Discussions with Putin and President Dimitri Medvedev reportedly involved visions of a gas cartel that would include Russia, Libya, Iran, Algeria and some Central Asian nations.

Gazprom is most interested in getting control of ENI's Greenstream natural gas pipeline, which runs 370 miles across the Mediterranean from Libya to Sicily, delivering as much as 1 billion cubic feet of gas a day. Just one more energy lever a Moscow-led gas cartel could use against Europe.

There's little reason to believe that Gaddafi wouldn't selectively target U.S. oil company assets for partial nationalization. Though U.S. oil companies lobbied Congress to have Libya excluded from a U.S. terrorism compensation law, Libya ended up shelling out $1.5 billion last October to settle all claims by U.S. citizens for damages caused by past state terrorism.

It's enchanting, almost, that Gaddafi hasn't softened with age, that his revolutionary zeal is alive and well. During the Q&A with Georgetown students yesterday, he showed the yawning gap between U.S. and Libyan foreign policy: "Terrorism is a dwarf, not a giant. I think Osama bin Laden should be given a chance to reform and redirect his followers if he wants a dialogue." U.S. oil companies should brace themselves to leave Libya yet again.

Good to see a young contributor ask a stunned BBC Question Time tonight if this meant NATO were going to give guns and rocket launchers to the Occupy London campers who are under assault from the oppressive St Pauls authorities

Do you think the people of Libya are truly thankful for NATO’s intervention?
http://petereyrepatch.blogspot.com/2011/10/do-you-think-people-of-liby a-are-truly.html
NATO has donated 4.5 Billion years of radioactive contamination on its people
Just think all the land, crops and water are contaminated forever, not forgetting the huge hike in all types of cancers, especially in the young, gross birth defects and mass infertility!!
A special thank you must also go out to Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations for sanctioning the saving of so many lives that will now turn into a mass genocide of untold proportions!!!
So let’s now show the Libyan Peoples appreciation in pictorial form
But Hey! Do not worry because our 4.5 Billion years of radioactive contamination doesn’t just remain in Libya……..We at NATO really like to spread our kindness around so remember wherever you are in the world “Please do not take a deep breath” because we are on to you in all four corners of the world……every time the wind blows or a dust storm occurs we stir it all up again……every time you walk or drive in its dust is becomes airborne and we get really excited when we land our Chinooks or Super Stallions as that really does spread it around…..finally when it rains it comes back down to mother earth to contaminate your land, crops and water, especially in the monsoon season or during a hurricane and we just love it when it snows……just think how many radioactive particles can attach to those lovely patterned snow flakes……gee this game is so good!!

DU does not respect international borders!!
So on behave of NATO we would like to thank you all for allowing us to get rid of that evil regime in Libya that gave you so much to its people and made it into one of the most prosperous countries on the African continent and thank you for also allowing us to pulverise each and every city in Libya so that our contractors can get some very lucrative contracts in rebuilding your nation and maybe siphon off a few million dollars here and there lol!!

UK businesses prepare to cash in
Independent - By Jonathan Brown - Saturday, 22 October 2011
Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said it was time for UK businessmen to 'pack their suitcases' for Libya
The Defence Secretary, Philip Hammond, has urged British businesses to begin "packing their suitcases" and head for Tripoli to share in the reconstruction bonanza.
A day after the death of Muammar Gaddafi, Mr Hammond said UK companies had no time to lose.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/uk-businesses-prepare-t o-cash-in-2374253.html

Last but not least remember that Gadaffi wanted to kick us all out and nationalise all the oil companies so that your country would continue to prosper and keep the revenue from its natural resources in the country……..again thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to take over your country, put our puppet government in place so that we in the New World Order (Rothschild’s, Rockefeller’s, Trilateral Commission, CFR, Bilderberg Group, Chatham House, World Bank/IMF, UN, WHO, ICJ, NATO, Friends of Israel Groups, Israel, Christian Zionist and Jewish Zionists etc……) can rape your country and continue on with our “Geo Political Plan” which is:

1. To control the world’s natural resources.
2. To control the markets for those resources.
3. To control the transit routes, sea lanes and pipeline routes for those resources.

Finally we still have much humanitarian work to do and with the help of our military partners in NATO we intend to take out Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Somalia to name but a few….with the ultimate icing on the cake being Iran……….Oh I forgot to tell you we have our special forces, CIA, MI5 and MOSSAD operatives in almost every country but for the time being we intend to focus on our other long range plans.

A wonderful article was sent to me from my friend in India and was written by Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya….here’s just part of that article dated 23rd October 2011…you can read this and many other good articles on the following link: http://www.vijayvaani.com/FrmPublicDisplayArticle.aspx?id=2019

Extract from the article:

Under the Obama Administration the United States has expanded the “long war” into Africa. Barack Hussein Obama, the so-called “Son of Africa” has actually become one of Africa’s worst enemies. Aside from his continued support of dictators in Africa, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) was unhinged under his watch. The division of Sudan was publicly endorsed by the White House before the referendum, Somalia has been further destabilized, Libya has been viciously attacked by NATO, and US Africa Command (AFRICOM) is going into full swing.

The war in Libya is just the start of a new cycle of external military adventurism inside Africa. The US now wants more military bases inside Africa. France has also announced that it has the right to militarily intervene anywhere in Africa where there are French citizens and its interests are at risk. NATO is also fortifying its positions in the Red Sea and off the coast of Somalia.

As disarray and turmoil are once again uprooting Africa with external intervention, Israel sits silently in the background. Tel Aviv has actually been deeply involved in the new cycle of turmoil, which is tied to its Yinon Plan to reconfigure its strategic surrounding. This reconfiguration process is based on a well established technique of creating sectarian divisions which eventually will effectively neutralize target states or result in their dissolution.

Many of the problems afflicting the contemporary areas of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Southwest Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Africa, and Latin America are actually the result of the deliberate triggering of regional tensions by external powers. Sectarian division, ethno-linguistic tension, religious differences, and internal violence have been traditionally exploited by the United States, Britain, and France in various parts of the globe. Iraq, Sudan, Rwanda, and Yugoslavia are merely a few recent examples of this strategy of “divide and conquer” being used to bring nations to their knees.

The Yinon Plan, which is a continuation of British stratagem in the Middle East, is an Israeli strategic plan to ensure Israeli superiority. It insists and stipulates that Israel must reconfigure its geo-political environment through the balkanization of the Middle Eastern and Arab states into smaller and weaker states.

Israeli strategists viewed Iraq as their biggest strategic challenge from an Arab state. This is why Iraq was outlined as the centrepiece to the balkanization of the Middle East and the Arab World. In Iraq, on the basis of the concepts of the Yinon Plan, Israeli strategists have called for the division of Iraq into a Kurdish state and two Arab states, one for Shiite Muslims and the other for Sunni Muslims. The first step towards establishing this was a war between Iraq and Iran, which the Yinon Plan discusses.

End of Extract.

We all have to understand that this is only the start of unrest in this world and at its helm is the “Imperialistic Greed” of the US, UK and France with Israel fuelling the fire at all times.

The pictorial reference below explains what this war is all about but in drawing this to your attention one must not forget the false humanitarian aspect of all that has gone before us: The Balkans, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Pakistan, Lebanon, Palestine (Gaza), Yemen, Somalia and currently Libya….just to prove one vital point in this debate is the fact that throughout these conflicts the above three countries has insisted that this is all about saving lives.

To all those savers of the universe i.e. Obama, Cameron, Sarkozy, Gates, Clinton, Hague, Fox and many more I will leave you to consider the side effects from your atrocious actions in the summary at the bottom of this articles regarding depleted uranium that you have now deposited in all of the above countries.

We all talk about war crimes and the above gentlemen frequently rush forward to persecute someone in a far away land and yet the axis of evil lies within their own ranks……..will we ever see any of them charged with war crimes?

Oil, Oil and even more Oil!!

To conclude there is around 4,500 grams of DU in a typical tank round, there are 300 grams in each round fired by the US A10 aircraft (which fires around 4,000 rounds a minute), including the Appache helicopter and there is around 300 kg of DU in a cruise missle………remember they fired over 400 cruise missiles at the start of the war in Libya……..let’s not forget the very not so accurate drones that carry the lethal Hellfire Missiles which also contain DU and we are talking here of radioactive contamination amounting to the equivilant of many thousand of Nagasaki Bombs not only in all of the above fields of conflict but drifting on the wind to all four corners of the world…….when will we as citizens of this planet wake up?

Note:

Depleted uranium weapons are recognized as radioactive poison gas weapons developed illegally under the Manhattan Project in World War II by the United States Government. Already illegal and in violation of the 1925 Geneva Poison Gas Protocol, in 1943 depleted uranium weapons were described as a “highly mobile indiscriminate killer and permanent terrain contaminant,” recommended for development in the declassified Manhattan Project memo dated October 30, 1943.

Leuren Moret (a US nuclear lab whistleblower) describes how DU violates the Geneva Convention:

Depleted uranium poison gas weapons fail the “Territorial Test” because radioactive toxic aerosols they produce on the battlefieldescape from and continue to act off of the battlefield.

The “Territorial Test” is one of four tests used to determine the legality of weapons under international humanitarian law, and requires that weapons must not leave the territory of the battlefield (territorial test), continue to act after the battle is over (Temporal Test), be unduly damaging to the environment (Environmental Test), and be unduly inhumane in causing death and suffering (Humaneness Test).

Depleted uranium radioactive poison gas and particulates produced on the battlefield, including sub-micron sizes, that are carried by air masses and rapidly become components of global atmospheric dust, leaving the area of the battlefield: indiscriminately, permanently, and cumulatively contaminating air, water, soil, food, and civilian populations at local, regional, and global distances from the battlefield.

Depleted uranium weapons fail the “Temporal Test” since they continue to act after the battle is over. Depleted uranium radioactive poison gas and particulates including sub-micron sizes, have a half-life of 4.46 billion years. It takes ten half-lives (4.46 billion years ½ life for Uranium 238) for small amounts of radioactivity to diminish to an insignificant amount. In the case of the high tonnage amounts of depleted uranium weapons used in Iraq since August 2, 1990, to the present, it will take longer than ten half-lives or more than 44.6 billion years for the global radioactive pollution from this pernicious poison to diminish.

Depleted uranium weapons fail the “Environmental Test” being unduly harmful to the local, regional, and global environment. The depleted uranium radioactive poison gas and particulates, including sub-micron sizes, unduly harm the environment by becoming globally mixed in one year, poisoning regional water sources where they are rained and snowed out into glaciers, lakes, and rivers such as in the Himalayas where the headwaters of nine major rivers of SE Asia originate. There are 1.3 billion people downstream from the Indus (Tibet, Pakistan, India), Ganga-Brahmaputra (India, Bangladesh), Yangtze (China), Yamuna (India), Ganges (India), Sutlej (Tibet, Punjab of India, Pakistan), Meghna (India, Bangladesh), Mekong (China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam), and the Ayeyarwady (Myanmar).

Here is a summary of the effects of that contamination on the people of Libya, the people in all the areas of conflict and the world beyond:

How can Low Level Radiation (LLR) enter your body?
What are the implications?
Let first look at the diagram below:

As you can see from the diagram on the left there are different ways DU/LLR can enter the body. On this diagram you can see a DU fragment such as shrapnel wound (right shoulder). DU dust can also enter this wound to add to the problem.

The most complicated of all is the inhalation of nanoparticle aerosols of DU/LLR. Insoluble DU particles

deposited in the respiratory bronchioles and alveoli will be cleared much more slowly, and, therefore, would be expected to deliver a higher radiation dose to the lung from alpha radiation. Once DU/LLR has entered the blood and irreversible cycle commences. The tissues in our bodies filter out the depleted uranium particles from the blood and cause a web of diseases called “Gulf War Syndrome”.

Unfortunately the UNEP, WHO, ICRP, IAEA, Governments, DOD’s and many other authorities - (not forgetting the pharmaceutical industry) have failed to understand the health implications when DU/LLR is inhaled into the body. They have together concocted a trail of deceit and failed in their duty of care to protect the world’s populations.

We are looking at dramatic increases in many forms of cancer, diabetes, and infertility. Because DU/LLR directly attacks the genetics of our body via our DNA we are now witnessing terrible birth defects in babies.

Leuren Moret covered this aspect in my previous article when she said:

“Uranium and phosphate structures have a strong chemical affinity for each other. The DNA and the mitochondria are phosphate rich and therefore there is a strong attraction between uranium, the DNA and the mitochondria. Once the uranium has attached to the DNA and or the mitochondria it does damage from the chemical heavy metal effect, the radioactivity released and the particulate effect” “The greatest damage from radiation exposure is to the unborn foetus and this genetic damage to the foetus is passed on to all future generations. Basically uranium exposure is a slow painful death from long lingering illnesses”.

I guess this article could go on forever but one has to stop at some stage and let you the public decide who is wrong and who is right in this “Geo Political Game”…..on thing for sure is that should the US, Israel and indeed NATO decide to take on Iran it will turn into the most horrendous catastrophic events ever seen on this planet……..we must make sure that the New World Order does not continue on this path of total destruction and stop them from going into Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran or anywhere else….enough is enough

Secrets Not Saif: Gaddafi shadow haunts West's dodgy deals

The late Colonel Gaddafi's son and key right-hand man Saif al-Islam, has reportedly crossed the border from the Libyan desert into Niger. It's believed he's trying to negotiate a surrender to hand himself in, to the International Criminal Court. If he does eventually stand trial, he could yet spill some of the secrets of the regime's murky dealings, with the same governments that helped topple his father.

Enemy at the gates? Libyans storm NTC headquarters
http://rt.com/news/libya-storm-ntc-headquarters-375/
Published: 21 January, 2012, 22:20
Some 200 Libyan protesters stormed the headquarters of the country’s transitional government on Saturday in a show of frustration with the slow pace of national reform. But will their calls for post-Gaddafi transparency fall on deaf ears?
Two weeks of protests in the city of Benghazi – the heart of the uprising against Muammar Gaddafi last February – came to a head when protestors used grenades to blow the gates off the National Transitional Council (NTC) compound housing the interim government.
The protesters, who demand a meeting with the country’s interim leaders, shouted through the windows at NTC members who could be seen pacing inside of the building, the Associated Press reports.
The demonstrators had previously set up a small encampment outside the compound as they called for greater justice and transparency from Libya’s new leadership.
But tensions mounted when the NTC passed a series of laws determining how parliamentary elections would be conducted this June – making no mention of how seats in the new legislature would be divvied out between different cities and regions.
Seeing that the allocation of legislative seats will ultimately shape the distribution of the country’s vast oil wealth, many demonstrators contend the NTC is not seeking to fulfill the people’s long-standing democratic aspirations.
“The election laws have not been approved by thousands of Libyans, and do not honor those who died for our freedom,” said Tamer al-Jahani, a lawyer taking part in the protest. “We don’t want to replace one tyrant with another,” AP cites him as saying.
While some were centered on the future of the country’s political institutions, others were focused on the plight of those anti-Gaddafi forces injured during the war.
However, calls for greater freedoms belie the actual situation on the ground in post-Gaddafi Libya.
According to a November report by the UN Secretary General, at least 7,000 men, women and children were illegally detained by rebel militias in Libya. Many of them are being held in prisons outside of NTC control, and have been subjected to torture and other systematic forms of mistreatment.
Clashes between rival militia factions have also become an increasingly common sight in the streets of Tripoli.
Coupled with warnings from British officials last month that senior level al-Qaeda leaders have been making their way to Libya to capitalize on an ever-expanding security vacuum, the developments could signal a potentially explosive crisis brewing in the country.

Libya Militias Prepare to Retake Bani Walid from Gaddafi Loyalists

'A powerful sense of deja vu grips the men of Libya's national guard as they mass for battle in the freezing desert outside Bani Walid, the new frontline of a war most had thought was long over.

Last October, many of these same fighters battled their way into this desert town, one of the last pro-Gaddafi redoubts to hold out against the rebels.

Now they are back again after fighting this week resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and forced the closure of a small government garrison. Several dozen former Gaddafi administration officials arrested for war crimes in recent weeks were sprung from jail during the uprising.'

Gaddafi is dead - long live the king!

........These Iranian dissident "Royalists' mirror those loyal to Prince Idris al-Senussi great nephew of the late King Idris 1 of Libya. The royalist stronghold in Benghazi in the East of the country was one of the "opposition' factions supported initially covertly and then overtly by the US/UK/France and the GCC states, primarily Qatar, whose eagerness to offer airpower to bomb a fellow Arab nation was disturbing.......

A shocking video has appeared on the Internet showing Libyan rebels torturing a group of black Africans. People with their hands bound are shown being locked in a zoo-like cage and forced to eat the old Libyan flag. "Eat the flag, you dog. Patience you dog, patience. God is Great," screams a voice off-camera.

Libyan rebel ethnic cleansing and lynching of black people

Posted on July 7, 2011 by HRI Mark

Further specific evidence has emerged that there is a strong racist element within the rebel forces, including at command level, and it is the stated intention of these forces to ethnically cleanse areas they capture of their dark-skinned inhabitants.

Racism amongst the rebels including at command level

In a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, journalist Sam Dagher pointed out the obvious fact that the Libyan war is aggravating ethnic tensions in that country. The article talks about the fate of Tawergha, a small town 25 miles to the south of Misrata, inhabited mostly by black Libyans, a legacy of its 19th-century origins as a transit town in the slave trade:

Ibrahim al-Halbous, a rebel commander leading the fight near Tawergha, says all remaining residents should leave once if his fighters capture the town. "They should pack up," Mr. Halbous said. "Tawergha no longer exists, only Misrata."

Other rebel leaders are reported as:

"calling for drastic measures like banning Tawergha natives from ever working, living or sending their children to schools in Misrata."

In addition, according to the article, as a result of the battle for Misrata:

nearly four-fifths of residents of Misrata's Ghoushi neighborhood were Tawergha natives. Now they are gone or in hiding, fearing revenge attacks by Misratans, amid reports of bounties for their capture.

Amid allegations of black mercenaries and stories of mass rape by the inhabitants of Tawergha, Sam Dagher reports on further evidence of the racism amongst the rebel forces:

Some of the hatred of Tawergha has racist overtones that were mostly latent before the current conflict. On the road between Misrata and Tawergha, rebel slogans like "the brigade for purging slaves, black skin" have supplanted pro-Gadhafi scrawl.

The racial tensions have been fueled by the regime's alleged use of African mercenaries to violently suppress demonstrators at the start of the Libyan uprising in February, and the sense that the south of the country, which is predominantly black, mainly backs Col. Gadhafi.

This information has already been publicised, in the WSJ and also in the Black Star News. Bryan Chan of the Los Angeles Times reports visiting a prison in Benghazi, where terrified black men were paraded for the cameras (with Human Rights Watch silently taking notes). One man bravely protested he was just a guest worker and the guards presented a Gambian passport as proof he was a Gaddafi operative. Chan's Libyan interpreter asked:

"So what do you think? Should we just go ahead and kill them?"

There is a lot of horrific video footage clearly showing public lynchings in Benghazi (link to graphic description of some of the footage). including at the rebel HQ, beheadings of blindfolded prisoners and interrogation of prisoners, including in hospitals.

The myth of black mercenaries leads to lynchings

Other evidence of the massacres of black people, which include the lynchings and murder of black soldiers of the Libyan army, guest workers from other African countries and dark-skinned Libyan civilians include a report from the BBC on 25 February which cited a Turkish construction worker as saying:

"We had 70-80 people from Chad working for our company. They were cut dead with pruning shears and axes, attackers saying: 'You are providing troops for Gaddafi.' The Sudanese were also massacred. We saw it for ourselves."

On 27th February Nick Meo of The Telegraph reported from Al-Bayda that he had been shown mobile phone footage of a 'captured mercenary' (presumably he means black person with a uniform) lynched from a street lamp as well as a 'black African hanging on a meat hook.'

Amnesty International crisis researcher, Donatella Rovera spent the period from 27 February to 29th May in Misrata, Benghasi, Ajabiya and Ras Lanouf. Yesterday she was interviewed by Austria's 'The Standard' and had this to say on the subject:

"We examined this issue in depth and found no evidence. The rebels spread these rumours everywhere, which had terrible consequences for African guest workers: there was a systematic hunt for migrants, some were lynched and many arrested. Since then, even the rebels have admitted there were no mercenaries, almost all have been released and have returned to their countries of origin, as the investigations into them revealed nothing."

Who spread the myth and why?

So what accounts for the widespread popularity of this myth? It is, to be frank, an example of highly successful propaganda, appealing to the basest of racial stereotypes. The myth was highly important in gaining consent for the operation in Libya, in order to cover up

Muammar Gaddafi speech TRANSLATED (2011 Feb 22)

TRIPOLI (Agencies)

A defiant Muammar Gaddafi vowed on Tuesday to remain in Libya as head of its revolution, saying he would die as a martyr in the land of his ancestors and fight to the "last drop" of his blood.

Saying the people were behind him, Gaddafi ordered the army and police to crush the popular uprising against his iron-fisted four-decade rule that has already left hundreds dead in the past eight days.

In a live, apparently unscripted speech on national television, the 68-year-old Gaddafi said, "Muammar Gaddafi is the leader of a revolution; Muammar Gaddafi has no official position in order for him to resign. He is the leader of the revolution forever."

"This is my country, my country," he shouted, in a speech consisting of short, angry bursts of words, which he punctuated by shaking his fist or pointing his finger.

"Those killed were from the police and the army; they were not youths"
--Muammar Gaddafi

"The Libyan people are with me," he said, calling on them to demonstrate from Wednesday. "Capture the rats," he said of anti-regime demonstrators. "Go out of your homes and storm them" wherever they are.

Dressed in a matching light-brown robe, scarf and turban, and wearing glasses, Gaddafi denied that the victims of fighting that has swept the country were young people.

"Those killed were from the police and the army; they were not youths," he said, adding that there was a "small sick group" that "gives drugs to these youths."

Reading from the country's penal code, he said "any Libyan who carries arms against Libyans will be punished by death."

Gaddafi's forces have been accused by various sources of killing demonstrators indiscriminately, even using heavy caliber weapons.

He said he would call the people to "cleanse Libya house by house" unless protesters on the streets surrendered.

"The only thing we can do now is not give up, no surrender, no going back. We will die anyways, whether we like it or not. It is clear that they don't care whether we live or not. This is genocide."
--Marai Al Mahry

Cyrenaica, the eastern region of Libya, has elected a regional congress and declared semi-autonomy from the capital Tripoli. The “blatant call for fragmentation” of the country was condemned by Libya's ruling NTC.
Thousands of major tribal leaders and militia commanders attended a celebratory ceremony in the region’s center Benghazi on Tuesday.
The congress stated that Cyrenaica had suffered decades of marginalization under the ouster ruler Muammar Gaddafi. Now the oil-rich region extending from the coastal city of Sirte to Egyptian border is taking its fortunes into its own hands.
The congress appointed Ahmed al-Zubair Ahmed, who was a political prisoner under Gaddafi and currently is a member of NTC, as leader of its governing council. Despite being a part of the Libya’s official ruling body, Al-Zubair pledged to protect the rights of the eastern region.
Libya’s National Transitional Council, which started uprising against Gaddafi in Benghazi and moved to Tripoli after his overthrow, repeatedly voiced objection to the planned autonomy. They said Libya’s transformation into a federal state paves the way to eventual split-up of the North African country.
“This is a blatant call for fragmentation,” said Fathi Baja, the head of political committee of the NTC. “We reject it in its entirety. We are against divisions and against any move that hurts the unity of the Libyan people.”
The head of the NTC, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, said the call for autonomy is a foreign plot. "I regret to say that these (foreign) countries have financed and supported this plot that has arisen in the east," he told reporters. "I call on my brothers, the Libyan people, to be aware and alert to the conspiracies that are being plotted against them and to be aware that some people are dragging the country back down into a deep pit."
The East, however, is pushing for a return to a system of rule that existed before the coup of 1967 which brought Gaddafi to power. At the time Libya was divided into three states – western Tripolitania, south-western Fezzan and the eastern Cyrenaica (or Barqa in Arabic).
A co-founder of the move for autonomy, Abu Bakr Baaira, pointed out that a federal system did not lead to a division of such countries as the US and Germany.
“Are the US, Switzerland and Germany divided?” Baaira said. “We hope they don't force us to a new war and new bloodshed. This is the last thing we look for.”
Barqa will follow a peaceful way of making Tripoli and the NTC recognize its autonomy. Baaira does not rule out a possibility of going to the UN for such recognition.
The Easterners have already formed their own army, the Barqa Supreme Military Council, which is independent from the NTC. The army is made up from revolutionaries who fought against Gaddafi rule last year. And now the forces are ready to fight for autonomy, Barqa commander Col. Hamid Al-Hassi says.
“Even if we had to take over the oil fields by deploying our forces there or risk another war, we will not hesitate for the sake of Barqa,” Hassi told the Associated Press.
It is unclear how many Easterners really support the idea of autonomy. Although some 5,000 people have reportedly taken part in the “Congress of the People of Cyrenaica” ceremony, several thousand were protesting against it in Benghazi on Monday.
Libya seems to be falling apart as the NTC is trying to work out a new electoral law ahead of the parliamentary elections in June. The latest draft of the law allocates only 60 seats in the country’s 200-member National Council to the East, while the West will have 102 representatives. The “Congress of the People of Cyrenaica” has rejected this latest draft, apparently due to its discriminatory nature.
Libya’s east-west divide: Breakup inevitable?
A painful breakup between eastern and western Libya is a real threat to the future of the country, believes Eric Denece, the director and founder of the French Centre for Intelligence Studies.
“From the very beginning Abdul al-Jalil, the head of the National Transitional Council, and his crew have done everything to create such a breakup between western and eastern Libya,” he said.
But this kind of outcome was written a long time ago even before the revolution began, Denece believes.
For a long time Cyrenaica ruled the country under King Idris, before Gaddafi came to power and the people of eastern Libya wanted to take revenge and lead the country, Denece says. But after ousting Gaddafi they understood they are unable to hold power over the entire country and decided to “keep their riches” to themselves.
“They don’t want to share the oil with the people of Fezzan and Tripolitania,” Denece says.
Denece believes that the whole world is closely watching the situation in Libya, especially Egypt and the Gulf countries, which have always had their own interests in oil-rich Cyrenaica.
“Egypt always had an ambition for this part of Libya and it’s only because of Italian colonization that Cyrenaica belongs to Libya and not to Egypt,” he explained. “And on the other side I believe that countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia will be very pleased if they can create a new oil monarchy in Cyrenaica.”
Abayomi Azikiwe, the editor of Pan-African News Wire, believes that there will never be unity in war-torn Libya. He told RT there was no political program that would reunite all the various opposition groups led by anti-Gaddafi forces and backed by the US and NATO.
“The only program they really had was removing Gaddafi from power. So there is nothing really to forge any type of national unity inside of Libya right now.”
The journalist blames Western interference for the unstable situation Libya now finds itself in and believes that the war has done more to destabilize Libya and all of North Africa. “The West intervened in sectional conflict that was taking place inside the country. They had, in fact, armed the opposition groups for decades just waiting for the opportunity to come in and engineer this type of regime change.”

Libya ready to use force against eastern separatists
Published: 07 March, 2012, 19:02
http://rt.com/news/libya-cyrenaica-autonomy-jalil-force-071/
Libya’s integrity will be defended by any means - even “with force” if needed - says Libyan “transitional” leader, Mustafa Abdel Jalil. His statement comes a day after the eastern tribal leaders declared autonomy for the region.
Mustafa Abdel Jalil warned people of the East that the “remnants of Gaddafi regime” have infiltrated the Cyrenaica region in order to exploit its people and resources.
“We are ready to deter them, even with force,” AFP cited Jalil as saying at a conference in Misrata broadcast by local television. “We are not prepared to divide Libya.”
Earlier Jalil stressed that “some Arab countries” are involved in this “conspiracy against Libya and Libyans,” by supporting and encouraging such a division between the East and the West to happen.
On Tuesday, the cradle of the last year’s uprising against Gaddafi, Libya’s eastern Cyrenaica region with its center in Benghazi, declared semi-autonomy from the central government in the capital Tripoli. The gathering of the major tribal leaders and militia commanders decided that the new state, also known as Barqa, with its own parliament and police force, would run its affairs independently.
While the East is seeking administrative independence, basically pushing forward the idea of federalism, the West is promoting “decentralization,” though centered in Tripoli.
According to the national charter, which was presented on Wednesday, Libya is a parliamentary democracy with a decentralized system of administration. And Mustafa Abdel Jalil is eager to defend the principles of what he calls a “constitution for Libya's future.”
