Well done for questioning what you were learning. It sound like you questioned thinking itself and decided it was easier to be prejudiced.

Christianity as it exists today is far more complex. The Catholic Church is highly sincronised with paganism. The mormons have their roots in freemasonry. They both consider themselves christian and consider each other to apostates.

The words of Jesus Christ are simple and clear. If man has mixed them with paganism then that does't affect the original message for those with eyes to see it.

Yes you are correct, the words of Jesus are correct but people have used them and twisted them to their own ends.
people should look at the basic message always.
