The family of Herman Rockefeller say they are deeply shocked after learning the Melbourne multi-millionaire had been killed and buried in a suburban backyard.
Late on Friday, eight days after the businessman vanished, Mario Schembri, 57, of Wallan, and Bernadette Denny, 41, of Hadfield, appeared before a bail justice at the St Kilda Road police complex charged with his murder.
Mr Rockefeller was last seen alive leaving the Melbourne Airport long-term car park on January 21 at 9.37pm (AEDT).
A large-scale search combing a national park in central Victoria on Friday was later called off when police were led to a grisly find in Glenroy, in Melbourne's northwest.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the Coroner was testing the human remains dug up from behind a cream weatherboard house in View Street to determine its identity.
Mr Rockefeller's brother Robert said his family was in shock.
"Our family is devastated by Herman's loss and deeply shocked by the circumstances surrounding his death," he told reporters.
The family has appealed for privacy.
On Saturday two cars - a faded Holden Commodore and a maroon-coloured station wagon - were parked in the front yard of the modest Glenroy house, while assorted car and boat parts were crammed into the backyard.
A shovel and large patch of soil were also visible through the locked gate.
A helicopter hovering above the house was the only police activity in the area.
One neighbour close to the house, Marika Williams, 33, said homicide detectives questioned her on Friday about unusual activity in the street.
"They asked whether we had seen fire or smelled fire," she told AAP.
"And we did mention that on Australia Day we had smelled something about four o'clock in the afternoon."
But Ms Williams said she dismissed it as a local barbecue.
"We just disregarded it."
Detective Senior Constable Tim Bell told the out-of-sessions court on Friday Mr Rockefeller was murdered at a home in South Street, Hadfield, in Melbourne's north, either late the night he went missing or early the next day.
Police raided the Hadfield home on Thursday and arrested Schembri and Denny.
Det Snr Const Bell said how Mr Rockefeller came to be at that address was still being investigated.
Both Schembri and Denny admitted to being involved in a fight with Mr Rockefeller, which led to his death, as well as assisting or having knowledge of the disposal of his body, he said.
He said Schembri took police on Friday to a residential address in Glenroy, where police discovered what they believed to be human remains.
The pair are due to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday

Who is Herman Rockefeller and Why Does it Matter?
On Friday, January 22, 2010 Herman Rockefeller mysteriously vanished and has not been seen since.

The fact that his bank account has not been touched would indicate that this was a professional job, not a group of amateur thugs looking for some easy money. The fact that his car did not activate the electronic tolls indicates that it did not happen on his logical route home, and the fact that his occupied car was last seen at the airport, would seem to indicate that he was abducted at the airport itself.
The real question is, who is Herman Rockefeller? His brother Robert claims they are not related to the Rockefeller family in the US, but, based on Herman's business activities, which align quite well with the American Rockefeller business interests, this claim rings hollow. Consider the following:
1. Mr Rockefeller is a Harvard graduate and was initially identified as a former director of Carlton and United Breweries. Now Foster's is denying any connection to the man.
2. This Rockefeller family came from Akron, Ohio, where they owned a bakery. The US Rockefellers lived in and operated from Cleveland, Ohio (which was the headquarters for Standard Oil until the company was sold to British Petroleum), a mere 45 minutes away. Purportedly, Herman's father made a decision to move to Australia in the early 1960s and "struck it rich".
3. Even more interesting is the influence this man and his family had in New Zealand:

Now that's a deal only a Rockefeller can make. Spend $26 million on a building and lease it to the government for $125 million. Yet, the denials keep coming in that there is no relationship between the two families.
Even more interesting is the unreported fact that Herman Rockefeller was a director of "Genesis Research and Development Corporation". The list of patents http://www.isrr.ialr.org/index.php/faculty/dr-barry-flinn/patents filed by this Biotech company definitely would meet the needs of a global conspiracy, if there was one of course (wink,wink). For example:

So, is this the reason for all the denials of "Rockefellerianism"? Or, is there more to it? For example, Herman Rockefeller's position with the Pratt Group:

The links are there and they seem to indicate that Herman Rockefeller was another member of the Illuminati Elite. If this is the case, then may I propose a few reasons for denying his Rockefeller heritage?
1. I believe that this "disappearance" shows just how vulnerable the Western Illuminati Elite really are. For the Rockefellers to admit that someone had gotten to a member of the "family" is an admission that they are currently under siege, wondering which one of them is next.
3. If in fact, the Eastern Illuminati in China and Russia are planning a war with the West, as I believe, is this the beginning of a "decapitation" plan of Western Illuminati leadership?
4. Or is this just "payback" for the 1,000 trillion dollar derivatives screw-job? Herman Rockefeller was involved in high finance as well as his other business interests. China and Russia were both heavily invested in derivatives and both got screwed by Western bankers.

HERMAN Rockefeller died after a fight broke out when he turned up at a
swinger's house without his wife.
It also can be revealed his body was dismembered with a $99 chainsaw
bought from a Bunnings store.
It is believed the millionaire's sexual advances were rejected when he
arrived alone at a Melbourne home posing as Andy Kingston.
During an earlier meeting he had promised to bring his wife, sources
said.
When she didn't appear, an argument broke out which led to his death,
police will allege.
To the outside world Rockefeller was a self-made millionaire and
family man but in the underground network of swingers he was known as
Andy Kingston.
It was one of several aliases Rockefeller established to hide his real
identity, sources said.
It was as Andy Kingston that he turned up at the housing commission
townhouse in Hadfield, in Melbourne's north, late on January 21.
After leaving Melbourne Airport, following a four-day business trip
with his brother Robert to Newcastle, he was keen to get home to
congratulate his daughter, who had been accepted to study medicine
after aceing her Year 12 studies.
But his lust for a secretive, sexual liaison came first.
His accused murderers, Mario Schembri and Bernadette Denny, were
waiting at home but there was a missing ingredient.
In an advertisement he placed in a well-read swingers magazine,
Rockefeller told how he was part of a fun-loving "couple" looking for
like-minded people.
Exactly how and when Rockefeller died is the subject of a coronial
examination. And because his body was burnt, it may be difficult to
determine.
The homicide squad was told Rockefeller was taken to Heathcote and may
still have been alive as he was transported in the back of a car.
At some point he was driven back to Melbourne's northern suburbs and
dismembered with a chainsaw bought the same day.
As his body was incinerated on Australia Day, the Metropolitan Fire
Brigade has confirmed it was called to check out the blaze at 10.20am.
The incineration took place a day after Rockefeller's car was found in
Ballan, 80km north of Melbourne.
Police are investigating whether a tow truck was used to transport
Rockefeller's Toyota Prius to where it was found in Carveen Lane.
Rockefeller was the director of 45 companies with interests mainly in
Queensland, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.
Revelations about his sex life came after his wife, Victoria, told the
media there was no conflict in their marriage.
Three days after he disappeared, his wife faced the media to make an
emotional plea for help.
Since then the family has kept a dignified silence, using the services
of a public relations expert and a private detective.
They have denied any link to the famous American Rockefeller family,
although speculation about a connection persists.
Mr Schembri and Ms Denny have been remanded in custody to return to
court on May 24.
