What an interesting development. Look what I've stumbled upon

https://www1.indymedia.org.uk/en/2006/09/350265.html?c=on#c155989

New blog tracking 9/11 in the British media

Anyone know who is the author?

Sites coming up when search for the blog

http://www.neuworldorder.com/aggregator/sources/3

http://www.neuworldorder.com is an interesting site as well. Anyone come across it before?

I posted a comment to ask? Seems I might be the first to come across this since there are no other comments, although it seems you have to be a blogger yourself to post a response

It seems they are aware of Annie M and Andrew J so you would imagine they are aware of this site's existence. In which case come and say hello.

May be I reading too much into this, but I can't help noticing inthemedia sounds an awful lot like indymedia. Could they be in way related?

Interestingly a quick search under 9/11 on indymedia takes you to whole host of recent articles on 9/11 and what can only be described as conspiracy theories. Am I correct in remembering that not so very long ago Indymedia was very shy about 9/11 truth and all things conspiratorial. I hardly use the site myself. Perhaps someone more familiar with the site can comment.

Whether inthemedia is related to indymedia is irrelevant any way. The more campaigners the merrier.

Is the tide turning at Indymedia? This would be significant if it is so.

I have exchanged emails with Chris at Sheffiled Indymedia thanking him for all his efforts writing his article on the demonstration and weekend and taking all his excellent photos.

Yesterday's email to Chris

The article and photos are great. Many many thanks

How is this playing out with the rest of indymedia. Is opinion turning.
How is our campaign perceived?

Ian Neal

He has replied with links to internal debates occuring on indymedia list websites. They are open access so anyone can read them and they make interesting reading. I haven't posted them here since they were in an email and it is for Chris/Sheffield Indymedia to decide whether to share them here

In response I replied with the following

Hi Chris.

Thanks for your behind the scenes stuff as well.

I don't have time to write long emails and you to read them, but I would
love a chat with you or with any other influential people within
Indymedia to discuss who we are (a united loose network that I
initiated), how we work (grassroots, non hierarchical), where we are
headed (a global people power movement that will unite "the movement":
further info on request) so that you are armed with the background that
will help turn indymedia

Check these quick links

Who's who
See the forum, pick up the phone of the key campaigners who via the
forum are easy enough to identify and talk to us. Ask them for their
experience of who we are and where we came and what it is like to work
within this network. You will find we tell broadly the same story: so we
are not a masonic inspired cult as some mischief makers claim

How we got to be where we are?

My background

Now I'm going to a gamble but if anyone really wanted to know you could
find this out. Please respect respect my privacy to the extent I
maintain it. Thanks

This is my work website profile

(Removed. Whilst many of you know where I work (yes, I have a 'proper job' and I don't really keep it much of a secret, I do try to keep a separation and I'm not ready to post it on the web)

So as you will see my primary interest is in social justice and global
transformation.

Our (dwindling number of) critics within Indymedia should not take me or
some of the most active campaigners as muppets who don't understand the bigger picture. They should not assume my ignorance of the "movement" (peace, green, anti-corporate, global justice/people movements) I have been working for peace, justice and truth for 20 plus years

My suggestion: contact Chris and offer your support in what ever way you can.

On the campaign's leadership

One last thing: Given that I explain how I was responsible for the initial emails that started this whole thing off I want to say something about about leaders and leadership that I know the other key activists including Ian Crane (Chair) and Annie Machon (Secretary) will concur with.

Our structures are very loose. We all speak "in support of " but not "on behalf of" the campaign. Ian and Annie were selected openly at a meeting that was widely publicised here and any of us could have attended (I didn't due to family commitments). As such Ian and Annie could be seen as 'our leaders'. This I suspect is where NFTB nonsense stems from primarily.

But one of the reasons that meeting took the (IMO wise) decision to appoint Ian and Annie is that they have demonstrated a lack of ego and desire to play any kind of power games (so typical of political campaigns).

Since being appointed they along with the efforts of so many others have driven this movement forward in inspiring fashion. Despite this undoubted success and respect from within the movement, they continue to be humble, non-ego-driven and approachable.

As such to me they have displayed admirable leadership qualities. In other words they have by their words and actions set the example for others to follow their lead. This is the true nature of leadership as opposed to some rather artificial title such as Chair and as such I back them to continue to lead things forward and help identify others who can help enact their plans and I'm aware of no decenting voices within the movement on this. They will continue to be responsible for the oversight of key events and initaives, such as Conway Hall, the creation of a new website to better present the evidence and for the managing finances in order to achieve this.

I will assume the role of leading a small group of key activitists consisting of the site's moderators to continue to ensure the forum and campaign stick to there principles and act as 'wise council and critical friends' to Ian, Annie and those working closely with them. If you think you have something to offer to this type of 'wise council role' PM or phone me

However let's suppose it all goes a bit pear shaped and that Annie and Ian have not been wearing their tin-foiled hats regularly enough and the PTB's mind control corrupt their minds and they go a bit power crazy and start ordering everyone around and controlling grassroots activism or the campaigning and message of others. Given our history, our principles and the way we have got this far, does any one really think that would work. A 'centre' run by egos and posseurs would soon be unable to control the grassroots of this movement and their 'lead' would no longer be followed.

At Sunday's gathering it was announced that Belinda was stepping down as 'vice chair'. She will remain actively involved but just has too much else on. (Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do Belinda). My advice to Ian and Annie is that they identify and nominate someone as a replacement, discuss this nomination with key campaigners and then announce.

Anyone with any problems with any of this or who wants to express any concerns and thoughts about our direction pick up the phone to me (or Ian or Annie or any other 'key campaigner'

Campaign finances

While I'm giving background to the campaign, let me be open about the central finances of the campaign

From January 2004 I ran an account for the campaign until earlier this year (I would need to check my email and bank statements to say precisely, but it was after the first national 'conference' in Sept 05). During this time about £3k passed through for leaflets, events and website costs.

Since then Annie and Belinda have assumed responsibility for the campaign's bank account. By far the biggest expenditure during this has been this last weekends events at Conway Hall and the Brixton gathering. A brief summary of the accounts for the event will be produced in due course but I know the whole event (including David and his wife's travel and hotel costs, venues and adverts in Namaste and Nexus in region of £4K.

No I might be slightly out on the costs for staging this weekend's events and they might have gone slightly higher in the end. But I know that cleared out the account (although late ticket revenue and books/DVDs sales will push the account up again)

When you think of all the money spent by established campaign's then to come this far on less than £10k through any central fund tells its own story.

But then it is probably less to do with our brillant management than the significance and strength of the case and the evidence demanding 9/11 is reopened together with the activities of hundreds of unsung heroes who are a pleasure and a privilage to know.

Right that's all I have to say for a while, since I have to some 'proper work' to finish

IMO thats an outstanding written piece Ian. Well done it sums up the strength of the 911 GB & Ireland movement....and our core values truthseeking and honesty.

I am delighted that you recognised the enormus contribution Belinda has made to the campaign and particularly over the weekend.

Deleted, as I've no idea what that post was doing in this thread, except to highlight this album Neuworldorder on myspace http://www.myspace.com/neuworldorder

http://911inthemedia.blogspot.com/2007/07/911inthemedia-redesign-relau nch.html

9/11 Truth is going from strength to strength. Here in Oxford, we've been running a series of weekly street stalls which have gone down very well with the general public. It's this feeling of change in the air which has led me to make several major changes to 911inthemedia:

1 - Previously the site was annonymous. It was my intention to contact media analysts in order to interest them in the unfair way in which 9/11 Truth has been dealt with by the mainstream media. I contacted several and recived no replies. I felt that by being annonymous, I would stand a better chance of being taken seriously, because it would only take a quick internet search to reveal that I have a reasonably long and deep involvement in 9/11 Truth. Thanks to Ian Neal for highlighting the blog at The War on Freedom forum and apologies for my anonymous reply. I have since realised that we can't wait for so called media professionals to take our case to the public - we simply have to do it ourselves. Be the media, Indymedia style.

2 - I always tried to write in as neutral tone as possible, and this will not change.

3 - The C-word. I have replaced all references to 9/11 C********y Theories with the term 9/11 Alternative Theories (with the exception of direct media quotes, URLs & one or two places where it makes sense to keep it) This may make the text a little jarring at times, as really it should 'alternative 9/11 theories' but it was quicker to change this way. I'd used the C-word to give myself a little mainstream respectability, but realised that I was actually only insulting the very people who might want to read and link to the blog, including myself.

So, I have a lot of catching up to do, and may simply work to publish something by the time of the 6th anniversary. I hope that 9/11 Truth activists in the UK will use this blog as an historical resource. I think it would be most effective as an introduction to 9/11 Truth for academically minded, lightly sceptical newcomers to the subject.

Any comments welcome.

Cheers, Ian
