I think I may have an answer to why Boeing 757 parts were "found" at the Pentagon site..
Dec 1995 757 crashes in Cali, ... exact same model of 757.
There have only ever been two AA 757-223 crashes..(alledgedly)
N644AA Flight 77
N651AA The Cali flight.

Cali Accident report..

Quote from Cali Disaster report...
"Wreckage that was found at the beginning of the wreckage path
included thrust reverser parts, a fan cowling, an APU tail cone, flap jackscrews,
an engine fire bottle, the FDR, and a small section of wing."
and
"The wreckage evidence indicated that both flaps and landing gear
were in the retracted position at the time of impact."
and
"the largest portion of wreckage included the cockpit, a section of center fuselage about 35 feet long,
the CVR, aviation electronics (avionics) boxes, a section of the aft fuselage,
and a portion of the wing center section."
There is photo analysis on Pentagon Research site of parts found....
1, Fuselage section.

And....

Composited picture below. (1).
2, This is a photo of what was still left of flight N651AA, a real 757 crash and the before shot.
Composited picture below. (2).
3, APU housing.

Composited picture below. (3).
I think what I`m trying to say is that there has been a 757-223 crash where parts could have been acquired from ??
(IMO availiable parts is speculation on my part but maybe this could be possible).
Geoff.

This is really only a bump of an old post.
My point is this,
I believe a Boeing 757 did not hit the Pentagon so where did the parts come from..

Good catch. You are probably right. Is it possible to match photos of bits of Clai wreckage with specific items found and photographed @ Pentagon? Engine being an obvious one?
I mean if both sets of photos show any matching identifying features (bent metal etc) as opposed to generic similarity, it would nail the job. Who took away the wreckage from Cali? Where did it end up?
