C17 Flights

I am a keen aviation enthusiast and currently subscribe to group that monitors military aircraft movements in the UK.

I don't think it's been mentioned here before, but there has been a massive increase in the number of C17 Globemaster flights through Mildenhall in the last two to three weeks.

Is this likely to be in support of the recent troop increases, or is there something more sinister going on.

A similar pattern was apparent prior to the Iraq invasion.

I am currently trying to collate some figures to show the percentage increase.

Thats very interesting, as you're no doubt aware the C-17 can carry anything up to and including a couple of Abrams tanks.

The troop surge in Iraq has been going on for a while now so its strange theres only now a sudden surge in C-17 movements.

Perhaps its the prelude to an attack on Iran, it seems they're being implicated in most of the insurgent attacks in Iraq, maybe the latest London 'bomb plot' will be linked to them too?

It sure would be interesting to find out what the C-17's are carrying......
