French govt. minister says 9/11 was an inside job

It was just briefly mentioned on channel 4 news in their comedy story slot. John Snow said "sounds interesting!".

More 4 News this evening reported that it has now emerged that the new French housing minister, Christine Boutin, considers 9/11 to have been an inside job. They showed an interview with her, recorded before President Sarkozy appointed her, in which she expressed that view and gave quite an extensive report on that and on widespread 9/11 scepticism among the French public. Boutin said that there is so much website information on this issue, coming from the public that she cannot believe it is completely without foundation.

Here is Wikipedia on Christine Boutin - apparently well right of centre even for Sarkozy's government, got into trouble for appointing a priest as an advisor, noted for her homophobic views and for waving the Bible around in the French Assembly.

And the report on More 4 News also mentioned the popularity in France of Thierry Meyssan's book, L'Effroyable Imposture (the Big Lie) though they did not mention him by name. Of course the news channel explained it all away as typical French anti-Americanism.

Sorry to keep posting on this, but bits of the news item, which I was not in a position to record, keep coming back to me.

There was also a reference to Michael Meacher and pictures of him donning green wellies with the voice-over saying something to the effect that it is only very fringe politicians who express these strange ideas.

However, it was a bit of a breakthrough to get this report on prime time TV.

This is actually good publicity for the 9/11 truth movement. As well as mentioning Meyssan's book, it also mentions Loose Change.
