Ibrahim of the July 21 plot and Khan of the July 7 plot.

Were the two London Bomb plots linked and were both plots organised by MI5 (in order to discredit Moslems and justify interventions in Moslem countries)?

Were Ibrahim (July 21 plot) and Khan (July 7 plot) controlled by MI5?

Why was Ibrahim given a British passport?

Muktar Ibrahim1990 arrived in the UK from Eritrea.
1996 Ibrahim was jailed for 5 years for violent mugging.
2004 (May) Ibrahim was photographed by the security services in the Lake District.
2004 (September) Ibrahim was granted a British passport.

Was Ibrahim recruited by a certain security service while in jail?

"Ibrahim was jailed for five years in 1996 at Wood Green crown court in north London for his role in a teenage gang which robbed people in the Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage areas of Hertfordshire."

Why did the security services not keep a closer eye on Ibrahim?

"Anti-terrorist police and MI5 were under pressure last night to explain how the ringleader of the July 21 suicide bomb plot (Ibrahim) slipped through their net despite being captured on surveillance photographs more than 12 months before the attempted attacks on London." · The court heard that in May 2004, Ibrahim encouraged his three friends to join him at a jihadi training camp in the Lake District which was subject to surveillance by anti-terrorist police. The men were captured in the surveillance photographs but there was no follow-up investigation.

· In August 2004, Ibrahim was captured on surveillance photographs taken outside Finsbury Park mosque in London.

· In October 2004 Ibrahim was arrested in Oxford Street after scuffling with a policeman who intervened as he was handing out extremist literature. He was charged with a public order offence and was due in court in December 2004. When he failed to turn up, an arrest warrant was issued which was outstanding in February 2005, five months before the July attacks.

· In December 2004 Special Branch officers stopped him at Heathrow and questioned him for three hours before allowing him to board a plane to Islamabad. He and two associates were carrying thousands of pounds in cash, a military first aid kit and a manual on ballistics. The other two men are missing believed dead fighting jihad.

According to prosecutors, at the time he should have been in court Ibrahim was at a training camp in Pakistan learning the skills to carry out a suicide bomb attack in Britain.

· In February 2005, police were seeking Ibrahim on an arrest warrant outstanding for the October public order offence and sent a letter to his London address saying: "Call us, before we call you."

Charles Shoebridge is a 12-year veteran detective of the London Metropolitan Police, a former graduate of the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, and now a broadcaster and writer on terrorism in the UK.

Shoebridge told the BBC Newshour program that from the evidence little else can be assumed other than that Khan was working for British intelligence.

"The amount of information coming out and the quality of information coming out. The fact that that has been so consistently overlooked it would appear by the security service MI5, to me suggests really only one of two options."

"Either, a) we've got a level of incompetence that would be unusual even for the security services. But b) possibly, and this is a possibility, that this man Khan may even have been working as an informant for the security service."

"It is difficult otherwise to see how it can be that they've so covered his tracks in the interim."

Some of those involved in the London Bomb plots plot may have been double agents and some may have been patsies.

The 1605 Gunpowder plot in Britain was a government plot to discredit Catholics.

Robert Catesby, Thomas Percy and Francis Tresham, all agents of the British government, were involved in the planning of the Gunpowder plot.

On his death-bed, there were statements by Robert Catesby's servant that the government's spymaster Robert Cecil met Catesby on three occasions in the period leading up to the events of of 5 November 1605.

The Jubilee Plot

In the 1880s, the Irish nationalists wanted independence from Britain.

British Prime Minister Lord Salisbury, decided:

(1) to use a British government agent Francis Millen to organise a false flag operation to blow up Westminster Abbey, thus killing Queen Victoria.

(2) to have the plot discovered just in time - so that the Irish Nationalists would be discredited. After the plot had been revealed, two Americans were arrested and sentenced to long periods in prison for conspiracy to commit terrorist acts.

Francis Millen managed to escape to New York where he mysteriously died.
