ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed is Executive Director of the Institute for Policy Research & Development in London, and the bestselling author of The War on Freedom: How & Why America was Attacked: September 11, 2001, which won him the Naples Prize, Italy's most prestigious literary award. He has a first-class Masters degree in Contemporary War and Peace Studies from the University of Sussex, where he is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the Department of International Relations & Politics, researching genocide, imperialism, and structural violence. One of the world's foremost experts on international terrorism and conflict analysis, Ahmed has been a regular political commentator on BBC Southern Counties Radio, and is named a Global Expert on War, Peace and International Affairs by The Freedom Network of the International Society for Individual Liberty in California. His previous book is Behind the War on Terror: Western Secret Strategy and the Struggle for Iraq.

Prior to founding the Institute in early 2001, Ahmed was Senior Researcher at the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) in London, a leading human rights group with UN consultative status specializing in human rights violations in the Muslim world. There he authored IHRC Country Reports on Human Rights Practices in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.
