Call for mosque chairman to quit
Dr Naseem: Elder statesman among British Muslims
A Birmingham MP has called for the chairman of the city's Central Mosque to resign after he said the government could not be trusted.
Chairman Dr Mohammed Naseem made the comments after terror suspect Yasin Hassan Omar was arrested in Small Heath on Wednesday morning.
Perry Barr MP Khalid Mahmood said Dr Naseem had brought the role of mosque chairman into disrepute.
But Dr Naseem said he did not believe he had been offensive or controversial.
"To the best of my belief, I haven't said something I thought was unhelpful," he said.

"I was trying to put the record straight.
"We have got a long tradition of democracy and a rule of law and that's what I think we should uphold."
On Wednesday, Dr Naseem said there was no excuse for terrorism, but he said Tony Blair had lied over Iraq.
"Now we cannot give our blind trust to the government," said Dr Naseem who has recently actively supported George Galloway's Respect Party.
Speaking to BBC Radio WM on Thursday he questioned the existence of al-Qaeda.
"I don't think al-Qaeda exists because we Muslims all over the world have not known this organisation," he said.
"The only information about this organisation is coming from the CIA. Now, the CIA is not known for telling the truth."
Mr Mahmood said: "What he has done is brought into disrepute the role of the chair of the Central Mosque and the Muslim community in Birmingham.
"If he wants to make cheap political points then he really ought to relinquish his position as chairman and let somebody who is neutral and has the interests of the community do it."
Dr Naseem is one of the elder statesmen of Islam in Britain and has been a leading figure among Muslims for many years in Birmingham.
His position in the city arguably means he runs one of the most important Islamic institutions in Britain, the mosque being regularly used by thousands of Muslims from across the west Midlands.
However, he has previously clashed with Mr Mahmood as he has been active in Respect, the party led by MP George Galloway to oppose the government's involvement in Iraq.
Dr Naseem, who stood for the Respect-Unity Coalition in Birmingham Perry Barr, Mr Mahmood's consitutency, received 2,173 votes at the last election, representing 5.6% of the votes cast.
Mr Galloway, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, has had success in wooing traditionally Labour-voting Muslims away from the party. _________________ Andrew

Dr Mohammed Naseem,
Chairman,
Birmingham Central Mosque,
180 Belgrave Middleway.
Highgate,
Birmingham B12 OXS
Sunday, 31 July 2005
Dear Dr Naseem,
Please accept my support for the brave and astute comments you were recently reported to have made, by the BBC, regarding the massive hoax and cover-up being presently carried out by Mr Blair and his 'handlers' across the Atlantic.
Your comments, I know, are shared by countless folk throughout this land who can see the shameful manner in which our freedoms are being rapidly taken away by an opportunistic Prime Minister, himself directly under the command of the Bushites and the fascistic extremists who have fraudulently stolen power in the USA.
Yes, we are all under the threat of extremists and terrorists today. What many find hard to accept, though, is that the extremism and terrorism is not being caused by 'Al Qaeda' or any such fictional organisation --created for no other reason but for psychological propaganda by the CIA-- but by their own rulers.
It is clear to me, as a non-Muslim, that the effect of the double-talk being cynically practised by those such as Mr Blair --who is not simply a disgrace to his people but a traitor taking orders from a foreign power-- is deliberately intended to distract the British public from his intention to turn the United Kingdom into a police state. I have always maintained that, like the Bush family, Tony Blair is a very dangerous man. His behaviour is becoming increasingly disturbing and he, with George Bush and Dick Cheney, should be arrested as war criminals and psychopaths.
Sadly, these dangerous and desperate individuals are rapidly turning their respective countries into dictatorships. Most ordinary folk can sense this but feel confused and helpless what to do.
It is for this reason that the leaders of the various churches and religions should now act urgently to call for the creation of a peoples movement for Civil Rights, Peace and Justice. This evil man, Blair, and his cohorts must not be allowed to scapegoat Islam as Adolf Hitler did the Jewish people. It is time for all patriotic Britons to stand up courageously to prevent our country being dragged into chaos and anarchy and dictatorship by irresponsible opportunists.
Yours most sincerely,

A Brilliant letter - Thanks for the contact address. I sent him one:
========
Dear Dr Naseem,
I am writing to thank you and congratulate you for courageously speaking your mind to the media and sticking to the facts regarding Al Qaeda and its connection (or lack thereof) to terrorism. I heard you interviewed on BBC 5 live last week. I have attached a copy of the message I sent to the programme’s presenter (Victoria Derbyshire).
I find it quite ironic that BBC presenters have not even watched the BBC’s own documentaries, such as the BAFTA award winning documentary “The Power of Nightmares”. This shows that Al Qaeda does not exist as an international body. Neither do people who present these programs seem to realise that the small number of the fundamentalists who are active overseas seem to have been funded through the CIA and some of them were even trained by the SAS in Scotland!
It just shows you how, with all the smarmy presenters and glitzy TV studios and wonderful computer animation, the media can sell any story they like to a gullible public. Additionally, the tabloid press can use vouchers, competitions and “Free Holiday Offers” to blur people’s focus of attention and subliminally implant these fantasies into their mindset.
Now, however, things are changing. An increasing number of us have woken up from the Matrix and are now tasked with trying to educate an apathetic and disbelieving public, in many cases using published media material, to show the true nature of what is going on; the increasingly rapid erosion of our civil liberties and the stifling of freedom of expression through the mechanisms of political correctness and double-speak.
In case of use for information, I have enclosed 2 DVD’s – “Confronting the Evidence”, which records the events of Sept 11th 2004 – a hearing where some of the truth was heard. Also “Painful Deceptions” which meticulously documents many of the glaring inconsistencies in the official 9-11 story. I am using this material as part of my personal educational campaign. If you would like more copies of these DVD’s please do contact me.
Enough of us were also sufficiently awake to see the similarities between the London Bombings and what happened on 9-11 – one of the startling ones being the running of simulation exercises at the exact same time as the real events (all this has been publicly disclosed).
A loose association of us have now formed into a UK truth movement and our discussion can be read/joined here:

Thank you again for speaking your mind and I am sending my warmest wishes and thoughts to you and, those close to you, that we can have enough effect to turn this issue around over the next few years. The battle could be long and hard, but I am already fully immersed in it.
Yours Sincerely,
Andrew Johnson _________________ Andrew

Goodonya, Andrew. Hope his mailbag is flooded with support. Our country needs honest people as exemplars to the rest.
Rory.
In one of his essays, Lyndon LaRouche talks of the need for folk to act from a place of sensing their own immortality. That feels so true to me and like you am committed to this for the duration _________________ ¡Venceremos! |
