I urge all to see this film http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0462538/ and can say without hesitation (as I'm just back from Germany) most Germans understand and love this movie! It has so many points where it ridicules the establishment (not just USA). If this movie doesn't wake people up I'm moving to Alaska 
If Fox and Bush aren't reeling after this then I dunno what will hit them

Very weak story and hit and miss jokes that were played safe. Matt Groening said the crew only chose the jokes they themselves laughed at. Not the right way to make a film.
What a wasted chance to be so much better and bigger.
IMO of course!

Back in the sixties, when you went to the cinema, there was always a supporting feature. Often this would be a cartoon or two and on one occasion my dad had taken me to see a movie. The lights dimmed, the curtain rose, yep there was a real curtain, the ads played through and the supporting feature started, it was a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
Something happened to Tom, you know he went through a cheese grater or something similar. Anyway, my dad started laughing, one of those belly laughs, it got more intense and it went on and on, he slid off the seat and into the aisle. In those days there was an usherette who showed people to their seats with a torch and she rushed out through the exit only to return a moment later with the manager just as the film was stopped and the house lights came up. They thought my dad was having a heart attack.
This was all very traumatic for a kid of my age. I haven't watched a cartoon since. |

Is that an in joke tele talking about the Itchy & Scratchy opener or if not seeing this film would be definately unwise

I couldn't care less about the weak story (still Simpsons through and through) its the Jibes at The Establishment that are the all important in my opinion
