CCTV/Tannoy system installed at bus station

I live in a fairly small town. Whenever i venture into the big bad city I never cease to get shocked by the amount of cctv that has appeared suddenly.
It makes me feel nervous. Its an invasion. This is a shared view methinks.
Equally as much as i have nothing to hide doesnt make me stop from using curtains.

Stories in today's mail about the uselessness and abuse of CCTV

I have NEVER personally been convinced of any argument I've heard for the replacement of uniformed police patrols by CCTV.

The first news story I ever heard about CCTV which was not a press release was about a CCTV camera operator in Oxford who got sacked and prosecuted for using the CCTV to follow good looking women around all day

Does it not seem odd that given the level of CCTV coverage that is apparently 'everywhere', that anyone could ever go missing?

Take Shannon Matthews - apparently vanished without trace. How is this possible?

We know her last location and when she was there - all we have to do is whizz out the relevent tapes and follow the trail of video footage.

How exactly do those who claim to be watched by cameras, explain this lack of ability?
