Many seem oblivious to the Office For National Statistics, their ongoing raft of surveys and the network of interviewers that are daily collecting information direct from members of the public in their own homes.

At any given moment there are surveys covering all kinds of subjects from views on climate change, occupation and income to sexuality and STD's, however the core questions remain the same across the board.

These surveys are confidential, voluntary and the data has a major impact on how much of our potential financial allocation from the EU we actually get.

I was wondering how many have been approached and interviewed by ONS and if it is generally accepted that this data is put to more nefarious purposes?

I run my own business and you will not believe how many surveys are constantly coming through the post.
Most end up in the bin but they do state that filling it in and returning it is compulsory or you can be fined.

Big Brother state is a reality.
