Caught this story on radio. Apparently it is now good for our kids development to play imaginary games using guns. Seems rather odd given the ban on firearms. Now I am not one of the PC brigade who think playing cowboys and indians is harmful but this story says to me

"we cant recruit enough people into the army because people are waking up to the idea that guns and killing is not good; therefore we need to reverse that mindset from a young age"

My kids played with toy guns, and later airguns, and like to play shoot 'em up games virtually.
Of course they are purely affectionate and peaceful boys in real life having played out their bloodlust in play

Since efforts were made at my lads school a few years ago to try and "win over" kids to join army by sending them on assault courses and playing games similar to Laser Quest ive been noticing the increased efforts to gain more recruits. The sickening ads on TV depicting soldiers kicking doors down arresting Middle eastern people and then fading the screen to the sound of gunshots said it all. No surprise that this made news

Our local college now runs a course called "Pre Uniform" supposedly to prepare kids for joining a uniformed service ( military or civilian (fire police). However the initial interviews only give opportunity to talk with Army Careers.
The way things are going it could well give the Gov reason to bring in adopt National Service another option is to keep the working classess uneducated, suppressed with little opportunities other than military jobs
