Yes, but the flight principles are still the same Tony. It's just a case of becoming familiar with the automatics (flight management computer and mode control panel) and the vast difference in speed and manouverability.

I believe that it is possible to learn the basics of the flight controls in a Boeing 767 for example. There are many flight simulation aids for the most serious of flight simmers and lots of simmers take it very seriously indeed. So much so that even some real world pilots fly for BAV. It aids their cockpit and instrument learning experience and allows them to practice their check-lists. Therefore I am proposing that it is possible for enthusiastic learner pilots to learn the basics of flight in such an aircraft. Further, to manualy fly a 767 one only needs to ensure that prior to switching of the Autopilot master button one is flying in straight and level flight, or in a mode which will not induce a stall. Thereafter it is a case of maintaining a minimum speed and height and the monitoring of nav aids and general instruments. There would be no other major requirments in handling the aircraft other than the use of throttle, flaps, speedbrake, rudder, elevators and ailerons. As far as being able to fly into the Pentagon with the minimum of experience such as that proposed, well I doubt it very much. Unless the hijack pilot/s had amazing knowledge of FMC Navaids and flight plan editing (fmc) which would have allowed them to use a VOR/ADF frequency near where the Pentagon is...I don't see it as a reality at all. There would have been far too much for the one hijack pilot to do, never mind finding the target at that speed.
