Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act Is New Government Crackdown on Dissent
'A little-noticed anti-terrorism bill quietly making its through Congress is raising fears of a new affront on activism and constitutional rights. The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act was passed in an overwhelming 400 to six House vote last month. Critics say it could herald a new government crackdown on dissident activity under the guise of fighting terrorism.'
That's exactly what it is designed to do. If this bill becomes law, words and actions could be considered terrorism simply on the say-so of the authorities. S 1959 empowers the government to declare anything they choose to be an 'extremist belief system'. The target then instantly becomes a 'terrorist' with no habeas corpus rights, no ability to challenge the decision in the US Supreme Court, and can even lose US citizenship.

So that's what the 600 disused bases (whose fence tops have been mysteriously switched from pointing out at the tops, to prevent people getting in, to facing inwards, to stop people getting out).
