MI5 warns firms of Chinese spying
The director-general of MI5 has warned business leaders that China has been carrying out state sponsored espionage against vital parts of Britain's economy, including the computer systems of big banks and financial services firms.
Jonathan Evans sent a confidential letter to 300 executives and security chiefs at banks, accountants and legal firms this week warning them that they were under attack from "Chinese state organisations", according to Saturday's The Times.
It is believed to be the first time the Government has directly accused China of involvement in web-based espionage, the newspaper said.
A security expert told the newspaper that among the techniques used by Chinese groups were "custom trojans", software designed to hack into the network of a particular firm and feed back confidential data.
The letter includes a list of "signatures" that can be used to identify Chinese trojans and a list of internet addresses that have been used to launch attacks.
A Home Office spokeswoman said on Fridaynight: "We do not comment on private correspondence."

I am not a member of the BNP or a racist but the fact is this MI5 release is too little too late. But then again what do you expect?
British universities are FULL of Chinese graduate students, every Science/Maths/Engineering/Computer Science program.
Few if any return to China. But to be fair neither do any of the Indians, Romanians, Estonians, Latvians, Hungarians, Ukrainians, Russians, etc etc who make up the rest of the graduate students in this country.
They then all enter industry in top firms/high-tech research groups after graduating with their MSc/MEng/PhDs.
One of my relatives works at a hedge fund in London, the fund is a "smaller one", but it's worth £500 million/$1 billion. There are about 12 analysts working there, every single one is a ex-graduate student from a foreign country, all with economics/maths MSc's or PhD's. Not a single Brit, the job pays £70-£100K
British Education at it's best, meanwhile, for any Brit who might want to better themselves in their own country we have this:

As an aside it amazes me that Chinese people can afford to pay the full tuition fees, a Brit certainly couldn't afford to pay for a £50-60K 3 year PhD program or the £20K for an MSc (I'm including living expenses). |

Our leaders (elite) are on a win win situation, why spend money on our own people when we get the worlds best for free _________________ 'Come and see the violence inherent in the system.
