The following is an edited extract of a letter I sent to 911 Truth Scotlnd contacts (the non e-mail ones) to update them on what 'we' (network members) had done in the last year (Sept-Sept). Actually I missed out quite a lot of things, including a series of film shows in the Borders, Jay's involvement in the Infoseed project in Edinburgh, Malcks in Stirling, Rory roaring away on his Chimes of Freedom blog and elsewhere in ways which integrate FFT-awareness into his overall critique of what is going on or could be unless we stop it .... and lots of other folk beavering away.

Please note that there will be an annual meeting of StoptheWar Scotland at the STUC offices in Glasgow, this Sat 8th Dec, from 1.30 to ?4.30.

Dear Friends for 911 Truth,



It has been a year since our founding meeting of 911 Truth Scotland, during which time we have
· Talked to our friends and contacts in everyday life, at work, in corner shops, etc;

· continued to write to the newspapers, and some of us have tried to get on phone-ins or to make formal complaints within the BBC’s complaints machinery – which I would encourage everyone to do! ;

· leafleted and/or given out dvds at the conferences of the Greens, the SSP, the SNP, the TUC, the Scottish Interfaith Council and the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland;

· joined Stop the War so as to be entitled to run a 911 Truth Scotland stall at their conference in Glasgow on Feb 10th,; and also tried to raise the alert about the danger of war on Iran preceded by a phoney incident blamed on Iran;

· distributed dvd compilations eg. Jay has compressed 8 and a half hours of fine dvd material about 911 and False Flag Terrorism into a single dvd; and Mairi has maintained her average of giving out 50 dvds a week!;

· kept in touch with the British and Irish truth movement, including I visited Leeds for its AGM on May 12th (see www.nineeleven.co.uk and now www.911truthcampaign.net, the new ‘official site’);

· hosted the three cities tour of William Rodriguez, at which you may have given us your address, which also led to embryonic meetings of groups in Glasgow.



Where we have been less successful (largely due to the poverty and/or overcommitment of a few) is in following through on decisions taken at our last year’s event, e.g. we still don’t have our own website, though Kenny McGuire’s sites: www.glasgow911truth.net and www.g911t.tk are well worth a look if you have access to a gadget, and another way we can link up is through the two ‘UK’ (British and Irish actually) discussion forums I mentioned above.



SIXTH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

I will be drafting a 911 Truth Scotland press release and calling a press conference for Monday 10th Sept, probably in the mosque/masjid at Carrington St in Glasgow. Among themes which we shall be raising are

that Lies dishonour the dead;
that since there is no good evidence of ANY Muslim/Arab involvement on the day we should consider the official 911 story a racist fantasy on a par with those once told by Enoch Powell, for which no evidence could later be found;
that until we can awaken from the 911 dream bubble, we remain vulnerable to being bounced into war with Iran, as the Cheney faction seems hell-bent on provoking Iran and fitting Iran up with a FFT incident;
we will also be raising questions about July 7th and the Glasgow fire attack (e.g. how come the police seem to have been down on June 30th, instead of an increase of security precautions having been ordered; how come the police took so long to arrive at Glasgow addresses, given when the mobiles supposedly providing the Glasgow link numbers had been found in London the day before.)


In addition we will mention three other events on 10th/11th Sept:

Protest Fast/vigil for 24 hours outside BBC Scotland offices at Pacific Quay, 2pm to 2pm: this will be by me and any others who care to join in, please see letter to BBC enclosed.
ALL FAITHS FOR 911 TRUTH: we hope to start a new network on Tuesday 11th at an evening meeting at Carrington St Mosque/masjid (upstairs hall) – ALL Welcome, particularly people of faith to hear a panel of speakers which will include (retired) Bishop Hare Duke and Imam Mustaqeem (Al Furqan Islamic Centre), and also contribute your own perspectives on this Islamophobic canard/blood libel; Meeting will start around 6.30 and go on to 9.20 with a couple of breaks for Muslim prayers downstairs, during which time others can see short 911 films upstairs; further details from myself or Haq Ghani ....... . We are delighted that the Bishop and the Imam will be addressing us, which should give us all heart as we try to mainstream the 911 lie within the promising but Home Office facilitated ‘Interfaith movement’ – don’t mention the war? If you live in Glasgow please pass the word!!, phone me for posters;
In the Forest Café, Bisto Place, Edinburgh at 6.00 pm on Sept 11th there will be a 911 film called Bringing the War Home about 911 as the fountain of the War on Terror madness, followed by a StotheWar meeting with Criag Murray and Aamar Anwar in nearby Chaplaincy centre at which we would hope 911 issues can be at least mentioned!

PLEASE DO TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO THINK WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP SPREAD THE TRUTH, whether attending your MSP or MP’s surgery or speaking out at some Interfaith or StoptheWar gathering, etc, etc. Looking forward to hearing from you how you get on and if there are ways you need support, arguments you find hard to counter, etc. Remember, the physical facts of the height of the towers, their speed of fall and the laws of physics are not in question, so it is mostly our own and other people’s tendencies to denial that we war up against, so in this sense 911 becomes a portal into a deeper sense of how we are conditioned and held by fear to identify with the powerful through media almost as controlled (to date) as in the USSR in (say) the 1980’s. (great book: Debunking 9/11 Debunking, by David Ray Griffin, Arris Books, Gloucs, 2007, very cheap from Amazon or get Waterstones to stock lots!) Well that’s all for now, folks, ….

EXCHANGE ABOUT FALSE-FLAG TERROR- ISM AND ‘BLOWBACK’ ANALYSIS



Dear Gill Hubbard and comrades in StopTheWar, [NB minor text changes added]



We are writing this to you and the organising committe of Scottish Stop the War to ask you to consider very seriously whether the time has now come to allow those opponents of the War(s)/domestic repression/Islamophobia etc who happen to have problems with the dominant 'blowback' model of 911, July 7th etc to have at least a bit of a say at workshops and on StW platforms.



In so many other respects StoptheWar has been a broad church, a thoroughly positive model of cross-cultural and non-sectarian organising. That is why it hurts that there seems never any space or time for the by now significant minority of anti-war activists who hold dissenting evidence-based opinions as to the true perpetrators of 911 and Bali, Madrid, July 7th. Nor does it seem that at StoptheWar events to date there has been the possibility of public discussion concerning the implications of these frame-ups/bloodlibels (if indeed that is what they are) for all our work for peace and justice.



We are baffled why (and who says?) it is Okay to accuse Bush and Bliar of lying over Iraq's WMD but not to accuse the neocons of directly engineering the 911 frame-up (given the physical and witness evidence is by now so overwhelming: one reason why only 16 percent of the US people still believe Bush'es version: NY Times/CBS poll).



We feel our alternative lens of False-flag terrorism (FFT), which derives from the work of Webster Tarpley and Daniele Ganser, among others, has useful insights to contribute to the cause, both in opposing the restriction of civil liberties (e.g. the police recently defended the Dundee ‘community liason’ Special Branch unit by reference to a Muslim ex-Dundee student supposedly involved in Bali atrocity) and in encouraging people to exercise an appropriate level of critical caution when Iran or Syria or the latest enemi du jour is suddenly blamed for some fresh explosion or assassination.



We do not see FFT analysis as 'the answer' in all cases, nor indeed as something to set against the necessary institutional analyses of imperialism, class, ‘race’, sexism, capital, geo-politics, etc. We oppose anti-semitism and other fanciful 'conspiracy theories' lacking a sound basis in evidence and common sense. We fully accept that in any given case of real or alleged terrorism we all need to be able to consider the facts on their merits (not intelligence service lies recycled by the media), and thus investigate with an open mind whether blowback or FFT is the more helpful 'lens' to understand what is really going on.



Surely it must worry you good 'blowbackers' just a little that on 911 StoptheWar seem to share a similar analysis concerning what happened that day (Arab hijackers killed 3000 people) to that of George Bush, rather than that of Hugo Chavez?



And if you don't in fact accept that official conspiracy theory, don't you think that it would be an act of helpful anti-racist solidarity with Muslims in Scotland for us all to denounce 911 as every bit as much a victimising state-forgery as e.g. the notorious Protocols of the Elders of Zion?



Please consider inviting a speaker from the FFT camp to speak at your February conference, and allowing 911truth (Scotland) to have a table where we can display our leaflets and wide selection of dvds. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Keith

We considered your suggestion of a speaker from your group at the conference at the meeting and I am sorry to disappointment you but we decided not to accept your offer. However, please note that you can always speak in the discussion and you can have a stall at the conference by contacting Mae and Dave (see letter to groups).



The reason why your offer of a speaker was not supported was because (i) we already have a large number of speakers for a 1 day conference (ii) the issue of 'conspiracy theory' is not the most pressing at this point in time.



Finally, in case there are any doubts, the group wished to make it clear that we are certainly not for censorship and I am sure that those who hold the conspiracy point of view will have ample opportunity like the rest of us who are not speaking, to make their views heard during the discussion.

Thank you for your reply. We will be contacting Mae and Dave to arrange a stall as you recommend.



We are glad to hear that you reaffirm that StoptheWar Scotland are for full and free discussion between different antiwar perspectives, in this case between adherents of the 'blowback' position and others of us whom you characterise as holding 'the conspiracy point of view' - though we would see ourselves as people who have developed an awareness of false-flag terrorism as an integral part of the methodology of contemporary imperialism.



After all the notion that 'Bin Laden did it' is itself a 'conspiracy point of view', so this phrase doesn't serve to distinguish us from BushCo's 'conspiracy theory', and besides this phrase is one which has become adversely connotated - mainly but not entirely by journalistic outriders of the continuing neo-con/imperialist push.



Anyway, we look forward to helping to make the conference a success.
