Tom Cruise sparked fresh doubts over his grip on reality yesterday after he claimed US officials had lied in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

The Hollywood star has already been widely ridiculed after his nineminute rant about Scientology was leaked on the internet earlier this week.
Now a video promoting the bizarre cult shows Cruise, 45, let rip about the response to terrorism.

Over footage of New York devastation, Cruise's voice says: "The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) came out and said the air was clean.

"Of course as a Scientologist you go, 'That's a lie'. You just go, 'Liar'."
A narrator then brags how Cruise "personally saw to the establishment of a detox project".

The Cruise-funded scheme referred to has been widely criticised.
Senior New York medical officer Dr Kerry Kelly said: "It's hard to have faith in it. You just stay there until you feel fine."

Cruise has opened two "9/11 Syndrome" treatment facilities in New York, for rescue workers who were sickened by sifting through tons of debris after September 11. The facilities offer exercise, sauna sweat-rooms, vitamins, and a regimen outlined in Hubbard's book Clear Body, Clear Mind. The detox procedure — which is reported to include high doses of niacin, the ingesting of cold-pressed oil and longs intervals in a sauna — is not endorsed by New York City's Fire or Police departments. However, some rescue workers say the program has helped them.


I would say he was performing a good deed and so should be commended not ridiculed.

Seems like a factual statement from cruise to me, the EPA provably lied and thats that.

I dont like scientology personally but I wouldnt let that cloud how my perspective on truth based on who says it, and if good things have been done to help people, the people helped certainly appreciate it

reptilian believers, scientologyites ,Shaylerites, ickeites, Christians, buddhists, atheists, jews, muslims , arabs etc etc. The 911 truth MESSAGE is whats important. OK the credibility of the messenger might be an excuse for some to rubbish the message but when the same drum is being banged across so many sections of humanity it IMO has more credibilty
