olmert
At the beginning of the peace conference in Annapolis, Md., Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel said that he “had many good reasons not to come here to this meeting.” Today, he explained the biggest reason why he did. From an interview with Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper:
“If the day comes when the two-state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights (also for the Palestinians in the territories), then, as soon as that happens, the State of Israel is finished.”
In the interview, he reminded the Israeli newspaper that he had first made similar comments some four years ago.
