1. Stop all foreclosures immediately for at least five years and for the duration of the depression by means of a compulsory federal law carrying criminal penalties. No foreclosures on homes, family farms, factories, public utilities, hospitals, transportation and other infrastructure. Outlaw adjustable rate mortgages.

2. Raise the federal minimum wage immediately to a living wage of at least $15 per hour, with the short-term goal of attaining a federal minimum wage of at least $20 per hour...........

Excellent exhortations, particularly Tobin Tax, 'End corporate welfare' & 'Protect the family farm' but throughout, the implication is:- First we have to remove all the vampires, not just Bush and Cheney...otherwise Tarpley is being overly idealistic here, IMO.

On a personal note, I find that animated 9/11 gif in very poor taste. 'America the Punchbag' perhaps?

It's Tarpley's idealism that I find appealing. Beats a compromiser every time. He kept telling us on the tour that he's a "Platonic absolute idealist", whatever that means.

An idealist is not held back by the baggage of the current Oligarchical Capitalist system. Which will hit a serious crisis soon anyway.

14. Protect the family farm by a program of debt moratorium for
farmers, no foreclosures, 1% long-term federal credit for spring
planting needs and capital improvements, Restore parity prices at 125%
of parity. Rebuild farm surpluses and food stockpiles. Food for Peace
for famine relief abroad.

US announces plan to delay foreclosures

WASHINGTON - Homeowners threatened with foreclosure would in some instances get a 30-day reprieve under an initiative the Bush administration announced Tuesday. Critics attacked the proposal as far short of what is needed to resolve a serious financial crisis that is threatening millions of families with the loss of their homes.

Under the new program, six of the nation's largest financial institutions said they will begin contacting homeowners who are 90 or more days overdue on their monthly mortgage payments. The homeowners will be given the opportunity to put the foreclosure process on pause for 30 days while the lenders look for a way to make the mortgage more affordable.........
