Metropolitan Police and CPS hindering
War Crimes Investigation of the Iraq war
Press Conference, Committee Room 14, Houses of Parliament, Wed 19th March 14.00 hrs.
John McDonnell MP and members of the Campaign to Make War History will brief MPs and the media on the current state of the criminal investigation into war crimes committed by Members of Parliament and the Government against the Iraqi people.
In December 2007 the Metropolitan Police commenced a criminal investigation into the deaths of at least 200,000 Iraqi citizens, including 80,000 children, unlawfully killed by order of Parliament and the British Government during the illegal armed invasion and occupation of Iraq. Acting in response to crimes reported by members of The Campaign to Make War History officers from the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes unit at Scotland Yard are investigating violations of the laws of war committed by the former and current Prime Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, MPs, Law Officers, civil servants, military commanders and others.
Detailed evidence of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, conduct ancillary to such crimes, a crime against peace, complicity in a crime against peace, murder, incitement to murder, conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to commit genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes has been presented to police.
Although the case papers were passed to the CPS in January no action has been taken to question, arrest, detain or charge offenders and as a result of this delay several thousand further victims have been murdered. Attempts by MWH activists to make lawful citizen’s arrests of offenders to prevent the crimes from continuing have been thwarted by the Metropolitan Police, and the press office at Scotland Yard has deliberately deceived the media over the nature and conduct of the investigation.
Details of the crimes, the offenders, attempts to block the investigation and how MPs and the media can help to end the killing will be provided at the meeting.
