Revelation 8 v 9 Third of sea creatures to perish

My eyebrows raised alittle when i read this news item about species dropping by a third

Rev 8 v 9 "and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died..."

Although the biblical prophetic events leading to this imply more of a sudden catastrophic event rather than "since the 1970s" just thought it was interesting.

Also rev 8 v 11 interesting as it speaks of a star called Wormwood that pollutes the water and kills "many men". The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 had some controversially saying that a translation of Chernobyl into English was Wormwood.
