Arms Exhibition Centre Sold

The ExCel Centre in East London where the bi-annual World’s Largest Arms Fair is held has been sold to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
Readers will recall that the first Arms Fair held at the centre opened on 11th September 2001, the day the passenger aircraft flew into the Twin Towers.
(I don't know about anyone else, but I was unaware of this little 'coincidence')

Clusters bombs and shells along with torture equipment have been on offer at the ExCel in addition to the latest weapons made by British and foreign companies. At each event protesters have made their opposition known in various actions throughout the four-day event. The next Arms Fair will be in September 2009. This will give us time to develop the campaign against the continuation of this vile event.

(Messages of protest can be sent to the Embassy of United Arab Emirates. 30 Princes Gate, SW7 1PT calling for the cancellation of the 2009 and all future Arms Fairs at ExCel. Protests should also be sent to the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary and the MOD. Not forgetting the David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.)
